To many of us the repeal of the infamous “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” (DADT) Military policy seems like decades ago, after all since then we have had many other civil victories such as, the supreme court’s overturn of California’s Prop8, which also opened the door for same sex marriage being recognized in the federal level. Yet, just like in true military fashion, just because we won a battle doesn’t mean we won the war. And just like in any war, this civil rights battle we are on for equality, has changed the lives of many. Just like it did for Airman Brock Thompson.

ON THE COVER

“[The repeal] allowed for a peace of mind. It assured us that we could serve in the military and not be kicked out or punished for being who we are”
