! Latino Leadership and Advocacy Project
The Missouri Developmental Disabili4es Council (MODDC) granted Community Partnerships of the Ozarks (CPO) and Alliance for Leadership, Advancement, and Success (ALAS) funds to serve families from southwest Missouri. The purpose of this grant is to create leaders and advocates (community navigators) of the rights of individuals with a developmental or intellectual disability. We are planning on delivering this project completely in Spanish. We are contac4ng you because we are aware of your poten4al and capability to be part of this project.
Training Curriculum (Saturdays and Sundays)

Session 1: Disability History and Civil Rights Movement March 2nd and 3rd of 2019 Session 2: Cultural Barriers and Percep4on of Disabili4es in Dierent Cultures April 6th and 7th of 2019 Session 3: Special Educa4on Laws, Rights and Responsibili4es May 4th and 5th of 2019 Session 4: Local and State Services June 8th and 9th of 2019 Session 5: Advocacy and Leadership Training July 13th and 14th of 2019 Transporta4on reimbursement and meals will be provided. Hotel and childcare costs could also be covered if needed. We want to oer you whatever is required so that you can commit to be part of this project.
