FINANCING YOUR STUDIES
€ CHF
Studying offers a lot of opportunities but also costs money. Liechtenstein is one of the most expensive countries in Europe. But there are a variety of options (grants, scholarships, jobs etc.) to fund your studies. Below you can find some information concerning the funding of your studies. Often parents do not only offer moral support but also support you financially during your studies. The standards for child support are different in each country – therefore, it is best to discuss with your parents in how far they can financially support you. Scholarships are usually performance-related. Apart from academic performance, some scholarships may also require e.g. political or social involvement as well as a proof of other achievements. Scholarships usually do not have to be paid back. All students who are residents of the Principality of Liechtenstein also have the option to apply for a scholarship of the Swiss Study Foundation. Students with Austrian citizenship can apply for the Landesstipendium für Vorarlberger Studierende, which supports you with up to 2000 € per year (www.vorarlberg.at/wissenschaft). For German citizens, please check the offers of the DAAD (https://www.daad.de). Students of the MSc in Architecture have the possibility to apply for an API scholarship. Furthermore, there is the Hilti Fellowship as well as the LGT University Scholarship for MSc Finance students. Many students work part-time and thereby partially fund their studies on their own. The job offers section on unicommunity.li offers a variety of part-time jobs and internships. When taking up employment, legal regulations need to be taken into account and holders of scholarships need to check their allowed additional earnings. Another option to fund your studies are study loans. Many banks as well as countries offer suitable formats. The Principality of Liechtenstein offers an interest-free loan to students who have been living in Liechtenstein for at least three years.

INVICTUS
START VADUZ
The Landsmannschaft Invictus to Vaduz was founded on the 30.04.2011. It is a colorful and optional student association of young and old academics on life time and free of roofs. The basis is mutual respect. The compatriots hold their members to fair thinking and action, success, determination and fraternity. The fulfilment of obligations towards university and study in particular is a condition of viability.
START Vaduz START is a student organization dedicated to entrepreneurship, which is represented at many universities mainly within the German-speaking area. With the aim to combine the acquired theoretical knowledge with practical insights and to foster an exchange of experiences, we offer an active exchange platform for students, founders, businessmen and industry experts. The exchange of knowledge helps significantly to overcome everyday entrepreneurial boundaries and thus to generate added value for everyone involved.
The members of the Landsmannschaft Invictus to Vaduz meet regularly at events (e.g. entry and closing pub, Foundation Festival, etc.) or at Aktivenfahrten (Oktoberfest München, Spring Festival Stuttgart). Do you have interest in getting to know our connection? Then don’t hesitate to contact us! Send us an e-mail, talk to us directly on campus or visit us at the regularly held “Invictus-Stammtisch”. We are looking forward to meeting you.
START Chapters The existing chapters are START Vaduz, START St. Gallen, START Munich, START Lausanne, START Erlangen-Nuremberg, START Berlin and START Warsaw. There are more to come and hopefully you will be able to contribute to the expansion of our network. The goal is the development of a sophisticated, diverse and professionally working network of chapters which foster new local concepts, ideas and events which evolve around technology and entrepreneurship and are adjusted to the local environment. Each chapter therefore subscribes to supporting young, high-potential startups and students and to raise awareness for technology whilst working content-, market- and technology-oriented. Motivation meets Innovation! START organizes for example the „Pioneers‘ Club“, where founders, young entrepreneurs and CEOs exchange experiences. It is a platform to enlarge your network and to connect with other ambitious students in the German-speaking area.

TOASTMASTERS
ESN - ERASMUS STUDENT NETWORK
Public Speaking Club at the University of Liechtenstein
The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is an international non-profit student organization. Its mission is to represent international students and to offer them the possibility to gain cultural understanding and self-development, by the principle of „students helping students“.
Are you afraid of talking in front of a group, do you find it difficult to prepare a speech, or is your audience bored? Let us help you solve these problems! We regularly have to speak in public. When speaking, we should be eloquent, comprehendible and engaging. This rhetoric club aims to improve speaking abilities. The procedure follows the agenda of a Toastmasters International meeting: Prepared speeches are given, focusing on speech projects, as well as spontanious table topics – and as these meetings prosper from member comittment, everybody may participate (voluntarily). Any speech is evaluated by other participants in a constructive manner in order to recognize strengths and overcome weaknesses. Other members watch the time and style, count filling words... every aspect of the speech is evaluated. Most meetings are conducted in English. Events happen every fourth week on Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. All students as well as non-students are welcome! Previous knowledge is not necessary, but some members use experience from other clubs to support the meetings.
ESN also supports you in spending at least one semester abroad during your studies. If you would like to go abroad, we’re always happy to answer your questions and connect you. What we do : organize events and integrate students build a network influence policies on the international level provide self-development .. and while doing that we want to have fun together and with our international fellow ESNers! The Buddy Programme is another support program aimed to provide assistance to international exchange students, regular international students as well as regular students by assigning them a so-called buddy. Buddies are often local and experienced students who are committed to giving a helping hand. In doing so, the integration of the international students into the cultural-, social- and academic environment in Liechtenstein is actively promoted. In addition, if you want to get involved at the international level of ESN – joining us is a great opportunity for your personal development and participation. To stay up to date, just give us a Like on Facebook (ESN Liechtenstein) and send us a message if you have any questions: office@esn.li!
