January Thursday 27
Non-EU students – Tier 1 Post 1.00 pm – 1.50 pm Carrington Building, Room 101 Interested in staying on in the UK to work after you have completed your studies? Come along to find out about the Post Study Work visa. This session is aimed at students from overseas (outside of the EU) who are subject to UK immigration control.

Applications and Interviews

Carrington Building, Room 101 Presented by PWC. What should you do and say in an interview? How should you fill out an application form? In this session you will receive information on the do’s and don’ts of interviews and helpful insight into some interview techniques.

New mini Languages Careers Fair

Palmer Building Foyer Want to find out about placement opportunities as well as careers using language skills? Why not make the most of this unique opportunity to talk to professionals who use languages on a daily basis in the work place and can share their experiences as well as provide hints and tips to maximise your chances of a placement or graduate position. Open to all students.

Assessment Centre Skills session
1.00 pm – 1.50 pm
Sign up to receive room details Presented by Ernst & Young. Sign up to attend this skills session which will cover practical hints and tips for preparing for and attending assessment centres and it includes a case study exercise.

Teacher Recruitment Agencies event
10.00 am – 2.00 pm
Myra McCulloch Foyer, Bulmershe Court Come and speak to representatives from three agencies about teaching jobs and teaching assistant posts. The agencies offer opportunities over a wide geographical area and in a variety of educational settings. Permanent and temporary posts available. Suitable for all degree disciplines as well as teaching students. No need to book.

Interview skills for the nervous!

Carrington Building, Room 101 If the thought of an interview gives you sleepless nights then come to this session and get tips from a careers professional on how to manage the nerves.

Creating the right impression 1.00 pm – 1.50 pm Sign up to receive room details Presented by Champion Life Academy. This session will cover how to create the right impression from application to interview with a potential employer and secure that job offer!

Mock interviews with PWC or Deloitte By appointment throughout the day Careers Advisory Service Sign up at the Careers Reception for a practice interview. You will be given one-to-one feedback. Bookings will only be accepted with CV or application form.

Employability Week Would you like to find out which employers value your degree, improve your application form or CV, get some useful tips to what to do after graduation or meet a range of employers then check out Employability week.
