Isolate showcases the culminating studio projects of the graduating cohort in the Master of Architecture program at the University of Tasmania for 2020. This book demonstrates the resilience and ambition of a cohort that have endured an extraordinary year, in which borders hardened, cities emptied out, and the educational experience was reduced to traversing gridded matrices on glowing screens from private cells. Graduating into a new world upended by economic and environmental crisis, Isolate signals both to the historical circumstances and geographical nature of these students’ professional formation.
