LIFELAB SUMMER SCHOOL
It has been a busy summer for the Developing Talent programme 40 students attended the 2-day summer school, where students aged 13 – 16 yrs learnt clinical skills, anatomy, had tours of the hospital and met medical students and doctors. The event was also covered in the local news.

LifeLab has been shortlisted for the RSPH Health and Wellbeing Awards 2024 We are a finalist in the Health at Every Age Award! We are delighted to be recognised for the work that we have empowered our young people to achieve and can’t wait to see what happens in the future.

30 Year 12 students attended Virtual Work Experience with UHS Students experienced live theatre, simulated a GP appointment, taking a patient history, as well as hearing from professionals across the trust

19 young people attended the new RSPH Young Health Activist training in August, enabling them to gain a Level 2 award They completed a range of fun and engaging activities focussed on increasing their own understanding of young people’s health and wellbeing and delivering a health message aimed at young people Watch this space for more information on how your school can take part next year
This summer we had some amazing interns work with us They each took on a project helping with the Summer School, our social media channels, the new RSPH Young Health Activists qualification and the Young Researcher’s Training Programme and helped us hugely Hopefully this will be one step on their future path and we can’t wait to hear what they get up to!
