Summer School

I’m generally very shy, I’ve come out of my shell since coming to Brighton and have found a good group of friends. In class I even ask questions and never thought this is something I would do. My Lit and Philosophy teacher in particular encourages this participation in class.

Course dates

At Brighton there are two semesters in a full academic year: • autumn semester runs from September to February • spring semester runs from January to

June.

Autumn semester students leave the programme before the Christmas break and arrange for early assessment in their classes.

Year-long students return in January and continue their studies through to the end of the academic year in June. Spring semester students arrive a week before the beginning of semester two in January. There is an Easter break during the term and students continue classes until the end of semester two in June.

English Plus JSA

If you’re an international student who wants to combine improving your English language skills with taking an academic semester in the UK, this programme is for you. You’ll start by taking the English for Academic Study course then progress onto the JSA one-semester course in autumn that runs between September and December.

We run two programmes each academic year. Your start date and course length will depend on your IELTS level.
