PR I OR I TY A p p l i c at i o n Deadlines
We encourage transfer students to apply as early as possible
July 1 fall semester
as space is limited. By applying early, students may benefit from scholarship availability, housing availability and a faster response time. A p p lyin g The easiest way to apply is online at admissions.ucf.edu. Be sure to submit the signature page and residency affidavit along with the application fee. Or, you can send us a paper application. W hen to a p p ly Students can apply to UCF before they have received their A.A. degrees. Applying six to nine months prior to your planned entry term will ease your transition, may provide you with an earlier decision and give you plenty of time to pursue housing and financial aid opportunities. If you are currently attending a Florida public community college, watch for special opportunities to apply when we visit your campus during “Decision Days.” T r a ns f er A d m ission R e q uire m ents Admission is offered on a space-available basis, so apply early. UCF operates on a rolling admissions basis. Students are notified of a decision within two to four weeks of the completion of their application. Applicants with fewer than 60 hours of college course work completed must submit official high school transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, and all college transcripts. (UCF freshman eligibility requirements must also be met to gain admission with less than 60 hours.)
09-10
Applicants with 60 or more semester hours of college course work completed must meet English and math requirements and fulfill the foreign language admissions requirement. Those who have earned an A.A. or articulated A.S. degree from a Florida public community college need only submit

transcripts from each college attended. Students completing one of these degrees should apply well before their degree is awarded. GPA R E Q U I R E M E N T S All transfer applicants must be in good academic standing to be considered for admission. Requirements include a minimum 2.5 overall GPA with a minimum 2.0 GPA at the last institution you attended, and two years of one foreign language from high school or eight semester hours of college-level foreign language. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Your overall academic GPA will be recomputed by UCF on all transfer course work. In calculating this GPA, UCF recognizes a plus or minus grading system. Grade forgiveness is honored only if it has been awarded as part of an A.A. degree (or recognized A.S. degree program) from a Florida public community college or university. Some programs at UCF are designated as “limited access” or “restricted access.” Selective admission criteria are used to determine a student’s admissibility into these programs. After you have been offered admission, you will receive a transfer summary report of accepted transfer credits. You must schedule to attend a one-day orientation program where you will meet with an academic advisor who will review your transferred course work and help you schedule classes. Fin a n c i a l Assist a n c e A N D S c ho l a rshi p s More than $200 million in merit and need-based assistance is awarded annually to UCF students. You must be admitted before being considered for financial assistance. All students must file or renew the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered. Begin the financial aid application process in January and apply by the March 1 priority date. A number of scholarships are available to transfer students who have earned an A.A. degree from a Florida public community college. Access financial aid information on the Web at finaid.ucf.edu.
