WORKING TOGETHER TO DRIVE SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION

One Planet MBA Profile Book | 1

Foreword Welcome to a special group of ambitious, bright, creative and talented students from our One Planet MBA. Each student offers an exceptional range of business skills together with a refreshingly new planet-minded outlook. Our students come from 18 countries around the world: America, Angola, Canada, Colombia, Germany, India, Ireland, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Maldives, Mexico, Pakistan, Portugal, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom. Our students are the first of a new generation of future business leaders who will be well-placed to drive organisations forward in an increasingly resource-constrained world. I would like to recommend them to you, and hope that you will find opportunities to engage and work with them. Sir Barry Bateman (Economics & Economic History 1966) Vice-Chairman of Fidelity International Chairman of the Business School’s Advisory Board

One Planet MBA Profile Book | 3

The Directors We feel privileged to be working with such a fantastic group of students. These students are special in so many ways. They have a solid grounding in the key business disciplines – accounting, finance, operations, marketing and human resources – as well as an understanding of the dynamics of business strategy. Our students have also developed a deep understanding of the role of innovation in driving business forward. Most importantly, they are planet-minded, having explored the role that business can proactively play in a rapidly changing world which is challenged by climate change, resource depletion and many other environmental and social problems. Our aim is to develop strong future business leaders who are at ease with complexity and change, who are skilled communicators, worldly in their outlook, collaborative in their working style and innovative in ways that can generate ‘out-ofthe-box’ thinking and transformational business change. We hope you will have the opportunity to meet or work with our students in the future. Dr Malcolm Kirkup Associate Professor, Director of MBA Programmes

and Jackie Bagnall Deputy Director One Planet MBA
