Wearedelightedtointroducethe UniversityofExeter’sPrimary EnrichmentOutreachProgramme forAutumn2023.
Thisprospectusoutlinestheexcitingand comprehensiverangeofactivitiesthatweoffer acrossKeyStage2,fromYears3to6.
OurOutreachProgrammewasfirstestablishedin 2007andinthattimewehavebroughttogetherthe knowledge,expertiseandexperienceofourtutors andlecturerstoprovidehighqualityteachingand learningexperiences. Inmorerecentyears,thishas includedworkingwithlocalartists,illustratorsand authors.
Ourprogrammeaimstoencourageanddevelopthe progression,attainmentandaspirationofschoolagepupilsandisspecificallyaimedatengaging pupilswhodemonstrateaparticularinterest,skillor potentialinaspecificsubjectarea.Ourhopeisthat pupilsfurthertheirpassionandunderstandingfor theirsubject;feelinspiredbypractical,hands-on activitiesandmeetlike-mindedpeers,allwithinthe contextofaHigherEducationsetting.

YouwillstartbylearningthebasicsofKoduthrough completingaseriesofchallenges.Nextyouwilllearn aboutwhatmakesagoodgamebeforeplanningyour own.Youwilldesignyourgameworldoutonpaper beforecombiningallyournewknowledgeandskillsto createafunandexcitinggame.

Thisworkshopwillallowthechildrentolearnabout seaturtles.Thiswillincludesomebackgroundon whereintheworldyoucanfindturtles,typesof turtlesandimportantenvironmentalissues endangeringthespecies
Theywillcreateasketchbookoftheirnotesand observations,whichwillincludemaps,picturesand sketches.Fromthisresearch,thechildrenwillthen spendsometimesketchingaturtlescene,focusingon theshapesandlinesneeded.Theywilluse watercolourstoaddthedifferentcolours.
Theafternoonsessionwillallowthechildrentocreate theirownturtleinspiredtile.Theywilllearnhowtouse theclaytomaketheirmodels,

Youwillvividlydescribeadramaticscene,whilst playinggames,dramatizingyourwritingandhaving fun.
Usingexampletextsfromworldclassauthors,suchas AnthonyHorowitz,LemonySnicketandEoinColfer, youwillbepushedtothelimitsofyourcreativity,to produceyourownfantasticimaginarynarratives. Whoknows?Maybethenextgreatwriterofa bestsellingthrillerseriesissittingamongstyou!
