Whatever the economic climate, organisations in the UK and across the world will always need accountants and economics whether this be in the private, public and voluntary sector. This course will help you gain a good understanding of both accounting and economics. The economic modules on this course will give you specialist knowledge of both microeconomics and macroeconomics.
This will help you analyse the behaviour of individuals, businesses and the economy as a whole. The accounting modules on this course will give you a thorough grounding in the theory and practice of accounting. You’ll have the opportunity to study important issues such as unemployment, inflation and economic growth, and to use economic models to analyse how households, businesses and governments behave and assess the implications of their decisions. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore large datasets to make informed decisions based on highly advanced data analysis – highly desirable skills for any future professional.
While at Huddersfield, you’ll have the opportunity to use the University’s trading room, which enables you to use advanced technology to analyse economic and financial data in real time. You’ll also be able to work alongside some of the UK’s leading accounting firms and professional accountancy bodies. Our Partners in Accountancy scheme could also support you while you are here. This will allow you to gain the experience and the knowledge to optimise your employment prospects once you graduate.
