This course aims to give you the skills to open up lots of career options within the electronic engineering industry.
The course is designed to give you a broad understanding of electronic systems, communications and control. We’ll look at digital, analogue and embedded computer-based systems, and you’ll have the chance to carry out project work to research a specialised area that interests you.
The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council. Consequently you could become a registered Incorporated Engineer (IEng) once you graduate. The course could also lead on to you gaining Chartered Engineer (CEng) status following further study.
Top-up Option
This is a one year top up course and is ideal if you have already completed at least two years of university or Further Education study in a related subject, for example, if you have a HND in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent). If you have an interest in technology and how technology can be applied and managed, then this course could be for you.
The course covers a broad range of topics and includes advanced technology and technology management modules. We look at the subject in context, considering the wider business, commercial and legal factors.
Example modules
• Electronic Design Manufacture and Test • Computer Programming • Embedded Systems • Analogue System Integration
