Supporting you to become employable is right at the heart of our courses

“My degree at the University of Huddersfield prepared me for the world of work in many ways from improving my independence, giving me opportunities to be involved in events and also by supporting me in my placement year, which was invaluable. Not only were my eyes opened further to the industry, I came back to final year with a real drive to succeed. Four years after graduation, I am still developing my skills every day and adapting to an ever-changing industry, and I thank the University of Huddersfield for helping me on to that path.”

Kirsty Peters, graduated from Events Management in 2015, now Events and Communications Manager at Manchester Youth Zone

“The Hospitality Business Management degree was a really good mix of theoretical and practical based modules, hospitality is a practical industry so that part of it was very important along with the finance element. The exams, project work and course work were a really important stepping stone into business and the creation of rotas, reports, presentations for interviews and everything else that comes with the day to day role of working in a management position.”

Adam Wardale, graduated from Hospitality Business Management in 2013, now General Manager at House of Daniel Thwaites

“It is definitely worth completing a work placement, it gives you a huge insight into working life and gets you prepared for the real world. I can already tell that my placement will help with my final year and hopefully the experience will lead to a higher grade in my final project.”
