Drama, Theatre, and Performance at Huddersfield is a production-based course for those that wish to create their own performances and workshops through acting or directing. State-of-the-art facilities including three adaptable drama studios with sprung floors and multimedia projection equipment in our new 300 square metre dedicated film studio, our live broadcast and television studios, virtual reality and motion tracking sensors, and state-of-the-art music and sound production studios, where you will have access to a range of industry-standard production equipment and software, both on and off campus.
Academic expertise
Work with tutors who have been successful in industry, including Obi Emelonye, award winning Nollywood film director, writer and producer. His credits include the multi-award-winning The Mirror Boy, a 2011 Nigerian fantasy adventure drama film, shot in England and the Gambia which received 3 nominations at the 2011 Africa Movie Academy Awards. He also directed Last Flight to Abuja and Crazy, Lovely, Cool, which are both available on Netflix. In addition, coming soon on Amazon, the paradigm-shifting biopic Badamasi: Portrait of a General. He was also the first film director to make a movie via Zoom, by working remotely with cast members in London and Lagos. The movie, Heart 2 Heart, received critical acclaim from major media outlets all over the world.
Eric Hetzler began his professional acting career at the age of 12, when he was cast by the world-renowned Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. Since that beginning, he has performed in more than 100 stage, screen, and other media productions. Eric has continued to act having performed Richard III, Polonius in Hamlet and Cardinal Wolsey in Henry VIII. In 2007 he performed in Pericles, as part of the Summer in the Dell series in Stratford upon Avon. Most recently, he played Alsemero in The Changeling.
