WHAT’S IT LIKE TO STUDY GEOGRAPHY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AT SALFORD? / Travel Opportunities Our Geography and Environmental Management students are able to participate in a range of both local and international field courses, which are fully-funded by the university. From visits to the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales to residential field courses in the European Alps or Scandinavia, our students are able to develop their practical skills, gaining real-world context for their assignments. / Royal Geographical Society Accreditation Some of our courses are accredited by the Royal Geographical Society – the UK’s learned society and professional body for geography, supporting geographers across the world. This accreditation means that our programmes are not only assessed in line with professional benchmarks but provide students with the relevant knowledge, understanding and skills required for a future career in industry. / Societies At the University of Salford, we have a range of student-run societies which cover all aspects of student life, from academia to sports, politics to the environment, performance to faith. A number of societies are linked to geography and the environment, such as Climate Change and the Wildlife society, providing like-minded students with a place to socialise, relax and enhance their skillset. There is also the Steminists society, supporting female students across STEM subjects and promoting gender equality for all.
