/ Microbial Puppet Masters with Prof. Chloe James continues to grow! The Maker Space proudly collaborated with Professor Chloe James and her team on the "Microbial Puppet Masters" exhibition. The Maker Space designed, prototyped, and crafted giant phage "keys" illustrating two pathways of phage action in 3D bacterial cell models. This interactive exhibit showcased our technical capabilities, utilizing 3D printing, CNC milling, and laser cutting. In October, the models were featured at the Animal and Plant Health Agency stand at New Scientist Live and the Science and Industry Museum's recent "Late" event. At the Maker Space, we support research staff, recognising the importance of communicating research excellence to diverse audiences, including schools, museums, and conferences. Our passion lies in collaborating with researchers to visually represent their work for universal understanding.

We operate as an inclusive workshop accessible to all University of Salford staff and students, regardless of department or course. Whether you're envisioning an art project or invention, we're here to assist you in bringing your ideas to life using our laser cutters, 3D printers, waterjet cutter, and CNC milling machines! If you're unsure of where to begin, reserve a spot in one of our workshops. Alternatively, if there's a specific skill you'd like to acquire, reach out to us. We can either tailor a custom workshop for you or provide one-on-one guidance throughout your project.
