/ Architectural Design Studio Project Exploring the integration of urban farm systems in the built environment A fantastic outcome from the hydroponic architecture workshop, supporting our first-year architectural masters students and second-year masters students from the Manchester School of Architecture (MSA). The Maker Space was used to craft a modular urban farming system to foster both student learning and community collaboration. Laura Councill and Andy Jenkins attended Maker Sessions in Fusion 360 and received training on the CNC router to fabricate the system. Students used the component parts made in the Maker Space to assemble four hydroponic modules using a simple isometric drawing. They thoroughly enjoyed the task! Another example of how the Maker Space can be used by staff to enhance student learning! #handonlearning #architecture #prototyping #collaboration #verticalfarming #STEM

If you're unsure of where to begin, reserve a spot in one of our workshops. If there's a specific skill you'd like to learn, reach out to us. We can either tailor a custom workshop for you or provide oneon-one guidance throughout your project.
