WHY NOT BOOST YOUR CV, STUDY MODULES AT A UK INSTITUTION AND MAKE FRIENDS THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME BY ENROLLING ON ONE OF OUR REWARDING AND ENGAGING PROGRAMMES? We offer three programmes at Salford: ERASMUS+

This programme is funded by the European Union and your university must have a subject specific agreement with the University of Salford to take part. We can offer both study placements and work placements depending on your subject area.

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE

If your university is partnered with Salford and nominates you to study here, we guarantee that your application will be considered. The subjects on offer depend on the arrangements with the partner. Tuition fees are not charged for either the Erasmus+ or International Exchange programme.

STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMME

If you are at a university which is not partnered with Salford or if you are studying at one of our partner universities which does not have an agreement for your subject area, you can apply to join us via our Study Abroad programme. The cost of this programme is £7,000 per semester or £12,000 per full year.

LIFE IN MANCHESTER

Greater Manchester is one of the most vibrant and diverse areas of the UK, with people from all backgrounds and countries coming here to live and study. The city of Salford is in the heart of Greater Manchester, our main campus is located just 2km from Manchester city centre, a short walk from world-class music, sport, nightlife, food, shopping and culture. You’ll be joining one of the largest student communities in Europe, with around 100,000 total students across Greater Manchester. Sport: It’s never just a game here – sport is in our blood. We’re home to two of the biggest teams in world football, Manchester United and Manchester City (the Students’ Union sometimes offers discounted tickets to matches!) as well as Lancashire County Cricket Club at Emirates Old Trafford. On campus itself we have the Sports Centre, where facilities include a 25 metre swimming pool with spa and sauna, a fitness studio with strength and conditioning rooms, and multi-use sports hall for badminton, basketball, netball and five-a-side-football.

FOOD AND DRINK

Salford’s Chapel Street, just a few minutes’ walk from main campus, is home to a growing number of independent outlets including veggie favourite Deli Lama, authentic Italian pizza at Vero Moderno and beautiful cakes and artwork at GK Gallery. In Manchester’s Northern Quarter, a twenty minute walk, you can find quirky diners, canteens and cafes – huge breakfasts at Koffee Pot, vegan junk food at V Rev, American-style burgers at Almost Famous and homemade cakes at Teacup. Manchester’s Chinatown is the second biggest in the UK, with a host of Chinese, Korean and Japanese restaurants, as well as a number of speciality supermarkets. Just outside of the city centre you’ll find Rusholme’s famous ‘curry mile’ offering Indian, South East Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine.

SHOPPING

It’s been said that the people from Manchester have a unique street style. And there’s plenty of places where you can find something to suit your own style. The Northern Quarter is home to the best independent, vintage and boutique shops, as well as Afflecks Palace, with four floors of alternative fashion. You can also find British high street favourites in Manchester Arndale centre and designer labels in the city centre.
