SCIENCE, ENGINEERING AND ENVIROMENT’S NEW HOME

WORK IS COMPLETE ON OUR NEW £65 MILLION HOME FOR THE SCHOOL OF SCIENCE, ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENT, IN THE HEART OF OUR PEEL PARK CAMPUS.

The £65 million hub is a world-class sustainable, four-storey building, which occupies 15,500 square metres and is part of a £2.5 billion Crescent Masterplan. A 240 acre major regeneration scheme being delivered by the University, Salford City Council and development partner, The English Cities Fund. The scheme is aimed at driving economic and social prosperity for the whole of the city.

The new building features a wind tunnel and high-spec laser laboratories. Developed in line with the University’s commitment to sustainability, the primary heat source for all building systems is electric airsource heatpumps – it is 100% electric!

Completed in the summer of 2022, the new building brings together teaching and world class research, providing our staff and students unique learning, research and industry collaboration opportunities.
