More than a degree

THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD. Salford is an ambitious, thriving university and our growth in student numbers over recent years shows that students agree and want to be part of our community.

Studying in Greater Manchester you’ll be at the centre of innovation, education, industry and culture and you’ll be in a part of the country whose economic potential and scope for growth exceeds that of any other UK city region outside London*. This means that Salford is not only a great place to study, but also to live, work and for future prospects.

At Salford you’ll experience the best of both worlds, you’ll be only 20 minutes’ walk away from the buzz of Manchester city centre, with shops, bars, restaurants, and nightlife, and at the same time you’ll get a real sense of community from living and studying on a campus university.

Salford as a city is undergoing a significant amount of change through a large amount of investment, and we’re right at the heart of that journey with the Crescent Masterplan, an £800 million investment plan designed to transform Salford over the coming years. We’ve also invested heavily in our own campus facilities, for example the new £65 million Science and Engineering building, Energy House 2.0, a new, world-leading research centre in energy efficient housing design, as well as being the home to the new North of England Robotics Innovation Centre.

Industry connections are at the heart of everything we do. We form strong partnerships with businesses and organisations from all sectors, working hand-in-hand with them to develop courses that are up-to-date and relevant to today’s challenges, helping you to graduate confident and ready to step into your chosen career.

You’ll be really well supported throughout your time with us and our dedicated student service askUS provides a one-stop shop for all your queries. It doesn’t matter what it is, from help with your academic studies or wellbeing support, to financial advice, disability support, accommodation, careers and LGBTQIA+ support, you’ll be signposted to help, guidance and advice whenever you need it. At Salford we’re all here to support you to succeed and to become unstoppable.

All best wishes,
