BACHELOR OF SCIENCE
DIGITAL AUDIO TECHNOLOGY Audio is part of everything. While it is indisputable that sound is the soul of music, radio, movies, TV shows, commercial advertising, video games, virtual reality, and many other entertainment platforms, sound also plays a crucial role in today’s technology, such as computer applications, electronic smart devices, and even electric vehicles.
USV’s Bachelor of Science in Digital Audio Technology introduces you to the broad discipline of music and audio production. This highly technical and hands-on program covers principles of music and audio, and applies that theory to individual and collaborative media production
projects. From music production, studio recording, and sound design, to audio for interactive media, this program prepares you with the vital skills needed to carve out your own niche in creative industries.
PROJECT-BASED LEARNING USV focuses on Project-Based Learning — a teaching method by which students gain knowledge and skills by investigating and responding to authentic, engaging, and complex challenges. As a result, you’ll not only develop technical knowledge and skills, but you’ll develop critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills through USV’s MediaWorks™ program.
MediaWorks™
Real-World Collaboration
In USV MediaWorks™, you will work with teams of students from diverse disciplines as well as industry professionals from various countries to conceptualize and produce audiovisual communication media.
From initial client meetings, through conceptualization, audio, music, animation, and film production, to delivering final pitches, you will experience the fast pace of the profession. You’ll create media at the highest standards and even under the pressure of real deadlines and friendly competition. Not only will you work directly with the organizations, but you’ll also learn to collaborate with your peers, various “departments” of the production team, project managers, and creative directors, under the mentorship of expert faculty with decades of professional experience.
Benefits Far Beyond Production Skills As a student in MediaWorks™, you will not only advance your production skills, you’ll also develop critically important soft skills: the ability to adapt, organize efficiently, make critical decisions, offer creative solutions, and apply the most effective communication styles.
