REGISTRATION

Students need to complete an online pre-registration process, before registering on campus at the start of the academic year. You’ll receive an email with everything you need to know.

PRE-PROGRAMME E-LEARNING

By completing the pre-registration process you will have access to online pre-programme content which we advise you complete before you join us in September as this will help prepare you for your studies.

A WARM WELCOME

When you join us in September, you can take part in activities in Welcome Week, including campus tours, talks with tutors and discovering clubs and societies at the Freshers’ Fair.

We have a range of accommodation sites at Stag Hill, Manor Park and Hazel Farm. You can choose from over 6,000 rooms, more than half of them en-suite. Comfortable, secure and priced to suit your needs, all rooms are close to campus.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You are likely to be housed in mixed-gender accommodation; however, you can request a single-sex flat. Each room will have a bed, desk, chair, bookshelf and clothes storage. Your kitchen will have a cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. Most accommodation includes social spaces, where you can chat, watch TV and relax with flatmates.

As a BMBS Medicine student, you will have access to a support team and services, including dedicated programme administrative support, to guide you through your studies, assessments and time here at Surrey.

MySurrey Hive is our support centre on campus, open 365 days a year to provide you with immediate help and advice on student-life-related queries, such as:

CLINICAL PLACEMENTS

Putting theory into practice is a crucial part of your training as a doctor. During your four years here, you will gain invaluable experience on clinical placements with our partner NHS Trusts and primary care providers.

You will be able to travel to your placement provider from the University and all travel costs above your normal commute will be reimbursed by the University.

You will also be supported by our dedicated clinical placements team to ensure you are getting the best experience possible.

FACILITIES

Your learning on campus will take place in our new Centre for Anatomical and Surgical Education (CASE) and our health sciences building, which includes our state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Centre.

CASE’s anatomy suite includes a dissection room, cadaver storage and preparation areas, and embalming facilities. You will develop your skills using the latest technology, such as virtual reality.

Our Clinical Simulation Centre includes two eight-bed wards and a Critical Care Unit. You will gain hands-on experience in immersive scenarios with aid of manikins and actors.
