For over twenty years, The Forever Surrey Fund has given essential financial assistance to students. Sadly, they still need our support more than ever.
Last year, £125,000 was awarded to students in hardship. But with an increase in applications of nearly 60% for additional support, we need your help to do more.
The ongoing cost of living crisis leaves bright and ambitious students in challenging situations as they work towards their degrees and ultimately, their future.
The maintenance loan received by most UK students is currently £2,000 behind inflation, with essential bills soaring and 80% of students saying they are worried about making ends meet. Monthly rent in Guildford has increased by an average of £270 a month since 2022 to £623.17 each month per student.
The financial background of our students should never dictate their future. Every student deserves a chance to achieve their goals, free of financial anxieties.

Damien*
In the third year of his Business Management degree, Damien sought support from The Forever Surrey Fund after becoming estranged from his father, who had been a significant financial support. Despite working a part time job while studying, Damien struggled to make ends meet. He was also responsible for caring for an elderly grandparent.
The Forever Surrey Fund stepped in to reduce the financial pressure on Damien with a grant, so he could keep studying.
Fleur*
As a Midwifery student, Fleur was required to undertake several placements to successfully complete her degree. Though working parttime alongside a full-time placement, Fleur was struggling to pay for the costs of childcare.
Under considerable stress, Fleur reached out to The Forever Surrey Fund to help her manage the costs of childcare to enable her to finish the remainder of her placement.
