Architecture and construction

Our fabulous £120 million Springfield Campus is dedicated to construction and the built environment, combining accredited courses with industry-leading equipment and technology, and produces graduates who are ready to enter the workforce as soon as they leave.

Facilities include virtual reality equipment, data capture technology, design studio, building information modelling programs, and a range of specialist practical labs.

Our National Brownfield Institute onsite helps develop modern methods of building through innovation and partnership with the construction industry.

Business, professional and financial services

Our Business School has offered employer-relevant academic programmes and tailored business services for over 80 years

We have a successful Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development centre, are an approved centre for ILM, and hold membership of the Chartered Association of Business Schools.

We offer a range of accredited courses, highly desirable and instantly applicable in industry.

Law students benefit from our unique partnership with DWF LLP to receive careers advice and mentoring.

Digital and cyber

Researchers from our Wolverhampton Cyber Research Institute are collaborating with industrial and governmental organisations on all aspects of security and privacy, helping to tackle threats in the cyberspace. We also continue to invest in world-leading facilities such as the £9 million cyber centre in Hereford, and are proud to have won Cyber University of the Year at the National Cyber Awards 2022.

Health and social care

We have specialist teaching facilities for health and social care in Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Telford for the next generation of key workers.

Our new Marches Centre of Excellence for Health and Social Care at Telford Campus provides state-of-the-art training facilities including advanced anatomy visualisation tables and an immersive reality interactive simulation suite. We have invested £3 million in the refurbishment of our pharmacy facilities. This includes extended practice suites, a multi-purpose flexible teaching space, and a new dispensary.

Sports

Our courses benefit from partnerships with both local and national teams and organisations, and many are accredited by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity. You’ll have the opportunity to gain work placements –and perhaps jobs – at all professional levels.

Our Walsall Campus has recently benefitted from £6million investment in health and sports facilities. It houses British Judo’s HQ. We’re also proud to team up with Hudl (a leading sports technology company), Telford Tigers, and more.

Education

We work in partnership with over 450 schools, colleges and private providers to provide placement opportunities, bespoke CPD and accredited courses.

Our Centre for Research and Education and Social Transformation aims to undertake research in all areas of education, encouraging collaborations among researchers, practitioners, policy-makers, and stakeholders.

Part-time study

Part-time study is a flexible and costeffective way to realise your potential and fits in with your lifestyle. Part-time postgraduate taught degrees usually take two to three years to complete.

You can complete your taught degree for as little as £4,198 per year* (plus an additional 20% off for graduates of the University with the alumni discount), paying in instalments to spread the cost of your tuition.

The facilities are great and the working environment is ideal for learners no matter how you prefer study. The pharmacy course in particular is run by staff who are passionate and well educated in the area.

Fees and finance

Most UK students studying a Master’s course in the UK can apply for a loan to help towards fees and living costs from the Government. This loan is paid directly to the student who is responsible for paying the fees to the University. More information on paying the fees in instalments can be found at:

Full-time course fees

The fees shown are for a 180-credit course – equivalent to a full-time Master’s degree. Courses that fall below this credit amount, such as full-time postgraduate certificates and diplomas are charged on a pro-rata basis.

Funding

Master’s loans of £12,127 are available for UK ‘home’ students. You must be studying a full Master’s award of at least 180 credits. The loan is paid directly to you and is intended to cover fees and contribute towards living costs.

Cost of living

With living costs rising, we want to ensure that our students feel supported throughout their university journey.

That’s why:

• Our accommodation price has only increased by £2 per week from the previous academic year, keeping it affordable for all.

• we have created warm study spaces across our university campuses, with our libraries opening 24/7 at points throughout the year.

• during term time we provide a free inter-campus shuttle bus, for lectures or any other University business.

How my course benefited my career

Careers in public health are in high demand and there is no limit to the good one can do in the community or educational realms. This course taught me leadership skills and helped me to make decisions that created cost-efficient and positive changes in my community.

My advice to potential students

Firstly, stay focused and make sure you complete your goal and achieve your dream. Secondly, continue to push forward, put forth your best effort and never relent. Lastly, work hard, be organised and use all available resources.

My career highlight

After I attended the World Health Summit in Berlin, I had opportunities and job offers. However, I am planning to go into clinical practice with the aim of conducting clinical research. My current role now involves me contributing clinical expertise to patient care, and performing administrative duties and risk management.

OfS-funded scholarships for MSc in AI or Data Science

A limited number of Office for Students (OfS) funded scholarships of £10,000 are available to students enrolled on MSc conversion courses in AI or Data Science. Search for “Data Science” or “AI” at:

Dennis Turner Hardship Fund

A non-repayable fund for any student, home or international, who is struggling to make ends meet. The fund doesn’t affect the visa status of international students.

International Alumni Scholarship

Available for University of Wolverhampton graduates (including those from our partner institutions) for postgraduate taught on-site study only.

If you have a First or Second class degree with us, you can receive between £2,000 and £3,000 dependent upon your results.

Exceptions include PGCE courses, which you will need to apply for via the UCAS teacher training website – search online for ‘UCAS teacher training’.

Entry requirements

Our entry requirements help us to gauge whether you have the knowledge or experience to provide a good base to study at postgraduate level. We believe in providing opportunities to people with the passion to succeed, and our entry requirements are not always based on academic attainment alone.

You will usually require an undergraduate degree. Relevant work experience in your subject area can help you get a place for some courses. Visit the course page for up-to-date entry requirements.

Level 2 requirements: Equivalency courses

Non-teacher training courses:

If you don’t hold a GCSE Grade 4+ (C or above) in English and/or Mathematics, we offer free online courses that we will accept as the equivalent.

Teacher training courses:

If you don’t hold a GCSE Grade 4+ (C or above) in English/Mathematics/ Science, we offer an equivalency test that can be taken on our campus. Each test costs £35.

If your entry award was not delivered in English; you do not have a degree from an English-speaking University; or you are a non-native speaker of English, you will be required to demonstrate proficiency in to a minimum of IELTS 7.0 or equivalent.
