A WARM WELCOME TO THE OPEN DAY I am delighted to welcome you to the University of Wolverhampton’s undergraduate Open Day. Today offers the perfect opportunity for you to find out more about course and career options and what student life is like at our campuses in Wolverhampton, Walsall and Telford. As the ‘University of Opportunity’, we strive to give all of our students the best possible student experience. Our biggest ever investment programme is now well underway, and aims to generate over £250 million by 2020 to enhance our campuses, laboratories, classrooms, subjects, social spaces and more – all for the benefit of people like you, who are looking to explore their talent and realise their career ambitions in a state-of-the-art learning environment. Today, you can view our excellent facilities, go on tours of our campuses and see where you could be living in student accommodation. Our comprehensive programme of activities, from subject talks to hands-on workshops, gives you a taster of our courses and the chance to ask as many questions as you like. You can also visit our Campus Life area, where you can chat to students and staff about life on campus, student support and career opportunities. It is a testimony to our students and staff that, according to the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education report, 96.3% of our graduates are employed or studying within six months. That could be you in three years’ time.

This programme details everything you can experience today, but if you have any questions then don’t hesitate to ask our Open Day team and student helpers – we understand going to university is a huge decision, so we want to make sure you leave us today with the information you need to know. Stay in touch and we can answer any questions that you think of afterwards, too. Enjoy your day at the University of Wolverhampton and thank you for visiting us. We hope to see you again soon!

Professor Geoff Layer Vice-Chancellor

TELFORD CAMPUS WHAT’S ON...

36

TELFORD INNOVATION CAMPUS Telford Innovation Campus is our youngest campus, where engineering and built environment students benefit from the hi-tech facilities and teaching expertise on offer. By 2020, there’ll be a shortfall of 200,000 qualified engineers in the UK. In response to this, we’re more committed than ever to producing the next generation of skilled engineers. We’ve invested over £10 million in advanced new engineering facilities and courses at Telford Campus, so there’s never been a better time for aspiring engineers to join us. The modern campus is set in the grounds of the Grade II listed, 18th century mansion Priorslee Hall, and is home to many of our international students. The technologically driven environment also includes the e-Innovation Centre, home to many start-up businesses.
