It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our institution today for our Open Day. If you choose to study at the University of Wolverhampton, you will join a historic institution that has been delivering worldclass education for almost 200 years.

We hope this Open Day allows to you find the answers to your questions so that you can make an informed choice.

We look forward to welcoming you to our inclusive and supportive community where you will develop your knowledge, skills and confidence to help you have a fulfilling life and career.

Making the most of your day

We’re excited to welcome everyone to our on-campus open days and want to make sure they are safe and stress-free experiences for all. We have lots of staff and student helpers available to help direct you and answer any questions you might have.

Food and refreshments

During our open events, you’ll find basic refreshments available, free of charge. Additionally, you’ll find Costa Coffee open for your favourite cuppa throughout the day, while our Courtyard Kitchen serves up dishes to please your tastebuds. At Springfield, the Coffee Bar has delicious drinks, snacks and lunches.

WiFi

We have free guest WiFi (WLVGuest) across our campus that you are welcome to use.

Accessibility

We have accessible campus tours every hour during open days led by friendly student ambassadors, dedicated BSL interpreters on hand, disabled parking, disabled toilets, and accessible entry to all our buildings.

Family-friendly

We ensure that all on-campus events are family-friendly and accessible for dependents:

• Baby/toddler changing stations

• Large comfortable seating areas suitable for families to relax

• Child-friendly activities

Prayer rooms / A quiet space

Rooms for prayer and reflection are available and will be open and available for use during our events.

Student support and services

Our open events offer a glimpse into the diverse support services we provide. These services can be found in our Millennium City (MC Building) and Ambika Paul (MD Building).

Academic Coaches Drop-in

Our academic coaches act as personal tutors to our foundation and first-year students, providing extra academic support, career skill-building, and pastoral care.

Admissions and Application

Zone Drop-in

Speak to our admissions team about applying to university, including the UCAS application process and grades. If you are ready to make an application, you can do this on the day.

Apprenticeship Zone

Discover higher and degree apprenticeships, explore how they work, gain valuable support, and connect with potential employers.

Careers and Enterprise Drop-in

Speak to our careers and enterprise team to find out how we support students and graduates prepare for their future careers.

DBS and Occupational Health

Drop-in

The DBS and Occupational Health team is available to answer any questions you may have around obtaining your DBS or Occupational Health Check.

Mental Health and Wellbeing / Disability and Inclusion Drop-in

Learn about the specialist services and support available to all students for help with learning, disabilities, deafness/ hearing impairments, mental health and wellbeing, finances, and faith.

Accommodation Fees and finance

Our university-owned accommodation is just a short walk from campus. You can live with friends, or make new ones! Join us at open day for tours, to meet our team, and get answers to your questions.

Dennis Turner Hardship Fund

Accessible confidentially by any student, home or international, struggling to make ends meet. This hardship fund is non-repayable and can provide a short-term solution to students in difficulty.

Parents and Carers Drop-in

Speak to our team to find out more on how we can support you as a parent or carer of a young person thinking about university.

Students’ Union (SU) / Drop-in

Meet the officer team and find out more about the SU and their societies, as well as the advice and support they can offer. Check out our brand-new licensed bar, Luna Lounge, designed by students and offering a great space for live music and karaoke. Providing work experience for students, the space also includes Deli Moon juice bar with discounted drinks and food.

Chaplaincy

Learn about support, events, and spaces for students of all faiths and none. Whether you’re seeking a quiet place for reflection or looking to connect with others, the Chaplaincy is here for you.

Library

At our newly refurbished Harrison Library you’ll find a great network of support. Our library team will support your study and research needs, and the library itself is also a central hub for support services with a range of study spaces alongside access to our printed books and journal collections.

Sport and Showcase Drop-in

You’ll find pulse-pounding sporting events and fitness activities across our campuses, which you can watch, play for fun or competitively, or just to try something new. The campus gym is also a great place to unwind and get or stay fit.
