A WARM WELCOME TO THE OPEN DAY I am delighted to welcome you to the University of Wolverhampton’s undergraduate Open Day. Today offers the perfect opportunity for you to find out more about course and career options and what student life is like at our campuses in Wolverhampton, Walsall and Telford. As the ‘University of Opportunity’, we strive to give all of our students the best possible student experience. We’re in year three of our biggest ever investment programme, which is generating over £250 million by 2020 to enhance our campuses, laboratories, classrooms, subjects, social spaces and more – all for the benefit of people like you, who are looking to explore their talent and realise their career ambitions in a state-of-the-art learning environment. Today, you can view our excellent facilities, go on tours of our campuses and see where you could be living in student accommodation. Our comprehensive programme of activities, from subject talks to hands-on workshops, gives you a taster of our courses and the chance to ask as many questions as you like. You can also visit our Campus Life area, where you can chat to students and staff about life on campus, student support and career opportunities. It is a testimony to our students and staff that, according to the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education report, 96.3% of our graduates are employed or studying within six months. That could be you in three years’ time.
This programme details everything you can experience today, but if you have any questions then don’t hesitate to ask our Open Day team and student helpers – we understand going to university is a huge decision, so we want to make sure you leave us today with the information you need to know. Stay in touch and we can answer any questions that you think of afterwards, too. Enjoy your day at the University of Wolverhampton and thank you for visiting us. We hope to see you again soon!

Register
First things first: whichever campus you attend, you’ll need to register. We’ll be ready to greet you in dedicated registration areas – if you’ve pre-booked online, simply show your fast-track entry card and away you go!
Before you start to explore, attend the Welcome to the University of Wolverhampton talk to find out more about the University, including our recent achievements and what it’s like to study here.
Remember to pick up a map with your programme, so you can get your bearings and find out where you need to go later.
Our fees and finance talk covers all you need to know about student finance – so, don’t worry if you’re feeling confused, just make sure you come along.
Subject talks, tours and workshops are throughout the day – check the programme to find out when and where they are, so you don’t miss out. Book on to campus and accommodation tours for a full lowdown of the student experience, including halls if you’re planning on living here during studies. You’ll receive a warm welcome in Campus Life, an area in The Venue at City Campus and The Performance Hub

at Walsall Campus, where you can chat to students and staff about life on campus and all available student support services. Need to refuel? Grab breakfast, lunch or a snack before your next talk – don’t forget to check out our new Starbucks at City Campus! As well as going to specific subject talks, you can drop in to the relevant
subject area and speak one-to-one with academics at the different subject stands. Get your offer! Yep, you could walk away with an offer on the spot – to get the application process rolling, speak to our Admissions team based in the Alan Turing Building at City Campus and Here2Help at Walsall Campus. 4pm already?! Your day doesn’t have to end just because the Open Day is over –

TELFORD CAMPUS WHAT’S ON...
34
TELFORD INNOVATION CAMPUS Telford Innovation Campus is our youngest campus, where engineering and built environment students benefit from the hi-tech facilities and teaching expertise on offer. By 2020, there’ll be a shortfall of 200,000 qualified engineers in the UK. In response to this, we’re more committed than ever to producing the next generation of skilled engineers. We’ve invested over £10 million in advanced new engineering facilities and courses at Telford Campus, so there’s never been a better time for aspiring engineers to join us. The modern campus is set in the grounds of the Grade II listed, 18th century mansion Priorslee Hall, and is home to many of our international students. The technologically driven environment also includes the e-Innovation Centre, home to many start-up businesses.
