SC JOHNSON INTEGRATED SCIENCE LAB UW-Parkside’s health and science programs set students on a path for successful careers in some of the fastest growing industries. In the last five years, enrollments in the College of Natural and Health Sciences has grown by over 22%. Parkside continues the tradition of excellence with the introduction of the SC Johnson Integrated Science Lab. RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES Faculty mentors assist undergraduate students in hands on exploration of scientific concepts. COLLABORATIVE WORKSPACE Opportunity has been created to make it possible for students to learn and work together in classes and across areas of study – from introductory to upper level courses. UPDATED SCIENTIFIC EQUIPMENT Cutting edge instrumentation allows students to learn with the same tools that are found in industry-leading workplaces and facilitates partnerships with local industry on research and testing.
RURAL AND URBAN SCHOLARS IN COMMUNITY HEALTH (RUSCH) RUSCH is a premed pipeline program designed to select and nurture students who show an interest in practicing medicine in rural and urban underserved areas of Wisconsin. RUSCH was developed by the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in partnership with UW-Parkside and two other UW campuses. Pre-health students who are accepted into the program, will gain significant health care experiences, mentoring, and instruction focusing on the great need to provide health care to under-served populations.
PRE-HEALTH SIGNATURE PROGRAM The Pre-Health program at Parkside is truly a multi-disciplinary program. Students hoping to gain acceptance into professional health programs, such as medical school, can pursue a major in any department or discipline throughout the university. Medicine has been described as both an art and a science. The Pre-health programs at UW-Parkside reflect this dual perspective. Graduates are very well prepared as demonstrated by the high success rate of UW-Parkside graduates admitted to professional schools, over 89%. This success is due in part to a welldeveloped program of advising, that includes course selection, admission test preparation, application assistance, and practice interviews.

HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY (HIMT) ONLINE The health information field is changing, and that change is happening now. Our collaborative online, degree completion program offered with our UW partners is one of the only programs that provides you with essential skills in both health information management and technology. It is offered solely online so you can obtain a world-class UW education that fits into your schedule. As a graduate, you will be uniquely prepared to pursue jobs in a wide array of healthcare environments. In 2012, U.S. News & World Report ranked health informatics and information management as one of the top nine new majors in the country, stating that “the need is huge for professionals who can help acquire, manage, and use information to improve health and manage payments.”

BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES Gain advanced training in the theory and application of Biological Sciences in conjunction with supervised independent research. There is an accelerated “3+2� program available to qualified students in which they can attain both a bachelor of science degree and a master of science degree. The program has two concentrations: (1) Molecular Biology, and (2) Ecology, Evolution and Conservation. In the last 5 years, 100% of our master graduates with the Molecular Biology concentration have worked in their chosen field, or continued their education in Ph.D. or professional programs.
