College of Natural and Health Sciences The College of Natural and Health Sciences emphasizes experiential learning opportunities through clinical settings, laboratories and field trips that are taken as part of many courses, as well as a rich array of internships and service learning opportunities. Students are part of a thriving learning community that spurs local, regional, and global progress. Applied Health Sciences • Students gain a minimum of 300 hours of professional experience through internships at local health care facilities that relate directly to their area of interest.
• Our Pre-Health students complete majors in Applied Health Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Exercise Science, Psychology etc.
Psychology • Our graduates continue their education in high profile graduate programs such as: UW-Milwaukee, Marquette University, Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Georgia State University and the University of Iowa.
• Only 4-year, public university to offer this major.
Biological Sciences • Our Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics and Applied Molecular Biology graduates have a near 100% placement into graduate schools, professional schools, or jobs in their field. • Our graduates have continued their education in high profile medical, graduate and professional universities including: Harvard, Johns Hopkins , Washington University, and UW-Madison. • Our graduates also get jobs related to their degrees at companies such as: Abbott Laboratories, the Walter Reed Medical Center, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Chemistry • Distinctive American Chemical Society (ACS) certified program. • Two major tracks: Chemistry and Chemistry with Biochemistry Concentration.
Environmental Studies • Over 700 acres of outdoor laboratory space. • Inquiry-based curriculum provides practical experience and skills that are in demand by employers.
• Certificates in highly relevant areas such as Mental Health Skills and Human Measurement and Research.
Sustainable Management • Entirely online degree ideally suited for students to complete in their own way, on their own time. • According to a report by US News and World Report, majors in Sustainability are ranked 11th in the country in terms of hot majors that lead to jobs.
Partnerships and Pathways • 3+4 BS/PharmD partnership with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS) accepts ten students each year into their Pharmacy program based solely on the basis of their performance in our pre-health program. A real opportunity for student success that meets a growing need in our state. • Rural and Urban Scholars in Community Health (RUSCH) partnership with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health addresses a shortage of doctors in underserved rural communities.
Geosciences
• 2/2 Electrical and Mechanical Engineering programs with UW-Milwaukee allows students to begin their course work at UW-Parkside and seamlessly transition to the Engineering program at UW-Milwaukee with junior status.
• Wide variety of hands-on research experiences that lead to publications and presentations at local, state, and national conferences.
• 3+2 BS/MS Geosciences program with UW-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences.
• Our students educate and provide services for the community including working with the Root River Educational Community Center (REC) in Racine.
• Our Nursing graduates have a 95% job placement rate. A consortial agreement with UW-Milwaukee allows our students to earn a BSN in Nursing while taking all of their courses at Parkside.
Exercise Science/Sport Management • Students gain a minimum of 300 hours of professional experience through internships at local and national organizations such as the Milwaukee Brewers and other sport and exercise facilities.
Health Information Management and Technology
• Physical Therapist Assistant agreement with Gateway Technical College. Students completing the Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Physical Therapist Assistant at GTC and meeting UW-Parkside admission requirements are admitted to the UW-Parkside BS in Applied Health Sciences’ Pre-Physical Therapy or Pre-Athletic training concentration.

Certificates * Available in Coaching, Human Measurement and Research, Mental Health Skills, Sport Management, Sustainable Management Science (online) and Sustainable Enterprise Management (online).
• Since 2000, our students have had an 89% placement into professional programs including Medical School (91%), Physical Therapy School (86%), and Pharmacy School (88%).
