THE LENNAR FOUNDATION MEDICAL CENTER
NOVEMBER 18, 2016
THANK YOU TO
THE LENNAR FOUNDATION The Lennar Foundation Medical Center will serve as a critical link through which the world-class medical care at UHealth–the University of Miami Health System and the groundbreaking research at the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine reach patients in southern Miami-Dade County and beyond. The Lennar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Lennar Corporation, one of the nation’s largest home builders. Leonard Miller, for whom the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine is named, created The Lennar Foundation in 1989 with the express purpose of giving back to the communities in which their homes were built. The creation of The Lennar Foundation Medical Center is a striking testament to that commitment.

ABOUT THE ART The ibis represents the University of Miami’s invincible spirit–the last animal to leave before a storm and the first to reappear once that storm has passed. Such resilience and renewal defines our institution. When illness and injury strike, patients require courage and resilience to cope with their diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Uplifting U is a one-of-a-kind glass sculpture serving as an inspiring, iconic symbol to our community. This work of art, made up of 244 radiant, hand-blown glass ibises, is one of the largest such sculptures in the United States. The art was designed and created by University of Miami Design and Construction, Frank Englesby and Fine Art Lamps, and Miami Art Services. Gifts that name an ibis support The Lennar Foundation Medical Center Fund. Thank you to the following donors who have already symbolically named an ibis: Robin and Steven Altschuler | Charlotte, Sarah, and Bob Barrett Family | Anne and Richard Cote Edgar and Susan Jones | Rich Jones and Family | Marsha and Mike Kegley Jeanne Antol Krull and Steve Krull | Roymi V.
