UWS COURSES FOR 2015
Thanks for picking up our guide to undergraduate entry for 2015. The qualifications listed are for guidance only and other equivalent qualifications may be considered for first year or advanced entry to UWS. In addition to the minimum entrance requirements some courses ask for specific subject passes and other subjects are recommended. The selection process also varies with each course, with some requiring an interview, audition or portfolio to be undertaken as part of the admissions criteria. Further details are online at www.uws.ac.uk/ug To help you make a decision on the suitability of your qualifications for entry to our courses we have listed the compulsory subjects as required for A-Level and examples of some of the relevant BTEC Level 4 and HN titles. Standard entry criteria For admission to any of our degree courses, we would expect all applicants to meet, as a minimum, our standard entry criteria. For entry to our degree courses we would expect you to have: • 5 subject passes to include at least 2 at GCSE A-Level; or an appropriate award of SQA, EdExcel, the AQA or OCR; or Irish Leaving Certificate with 5 subjects at Grade C2, or above, to include at least 3 subjects at the Higher level. • Evidence of proficiency in Mathematics and English, usually at least at GCSE Grade A, B or C or equivalent. • In addition to standard qualifications, we will also consider other combinations of qualifications and experience such as BTEC National Diploma. Please note that at UWS we use predicted grades for all points of entry as part of our selection process at UWS and so it is imperative that this information is provided as part of the application.
We welcome applications from mature students and will take into account any relevant work experience and professional training when making a decision on your application. Advanced entry Many of our courses offer advanced entry options providing you have the relevant combination of subjects within your qualification.
