Maps help to explore the complex relationship between representation and thinking, culture, language, and most importantly, AESTHETIC practices. While a map only represents a setting, mapping describes the tools and knowledge essential for maps to be created and accepted. All the principles of cartography are embedded in the mapping procedure. I have projected an un-mapping and a re-mapping procedure unlike the conventional spatial mapping system. Here, I have shown ‘un-mapping’ existing maps before proposing re-maps. The exhibit includes re-mapping of existing maps and original maps.
It is a thematic map describing the spatial distribution of population over the biggest continent on earth, Asia. It explains my understanding of the relationship between space and inhabitants within. The map distinguishes all the different countries in Asia, portraying their respective spatial population densities. My goal is to project, evaluate and map the current population density of Asia in a calibrated and normalized
