the interview What was your first impression of him? A: He was so fun; I just remember thinking he is definitely the kind of guy I would want to marry. S: I thought she was gorgeous. I was very confused that she came up to me and said hi. I was really impressed that she remembered who I was from 2.5 years ago. What did you do on your first date? A: I was at home for the summer and he came down to Las Vegas with some friends and sent me a message on FB asking for my number and if I would want to do something while he was there. get a bunch of friends for him and his friends and I had to work the next day so I said I couldn't. He was persistent though - he called me again the next day and so I went down to the strip to meet up with him. We ended up going to a nightclub and playing roulette. Definitely not my idea of a first but we ended up having so much fun I knew I wanted to keep hanging out with him. S: I went to Las Vegas to meet up with some of my friends (Jackson Griffon and Nolan Harvey), I asked her to come out with me through Facebook, but she rejected me at first and then I asked her again. She finally agreed to meet me at the Flamingo and we played roulette for a minute, surprisingly Aubrey won $200. We went to a club called Drias and it was crazy,
people were throwing money in the air and the DJ was spraying fire extinguishers on people.
goodbye, she invited me in to watch a movie. During the movie I knew that I had to kiss her.

Who was the first to say I love you?
A: Shane did. It had been about 3 weeks since our first date and we hung out just about every chance that we could get. He had had plenty of opportunities to kiss me but it still hadn't happened. That night we went to a drive in movie and I thought for sure he would kiss me but the movie started and ended and still no kiss. It wasn't until we got back to my house after the movie that he finally made his move. It was worth the wait! S: After we left the drive in theatre, I planned to drop her off at home. A: After a bit of coaxing, Shane. We had been dating for probably around 6 months and I wasn't worried that we hadn't said I love you yet because even though we didn't say it I could feel that he loved me and that I loved him. But everyone around me seemed to think it was a major red flag and after a couple more months of them bugging me about whether or not we had said it I started to panic a little. One night I just dropped the bomb on him,

“Why haven't you said I love you yet?” That was probably our first argument we got in and he basically told me he shouldn't have to say it for me to know it, which is what I had been telling everyone (cough cough my mom and best friend) for a while now. But finally I dropped it and turned away frustrated and that's when he said it “You know I love you though” and that was that. Typical Shane to turn an argument into laughter. S: After Sunday dinner, she asked me why I have not yet told her I loved her. I responded by telling her, “you know I love you.” It was me to say it first, I guess. 6 • Mr & Mrs Bergeson
What’s the most interesting or surprising thing you’ve learned about each other since you’ve been together? A: Shane is my complete opposite and I love him for it. I love roller coasters, Shane hates them. I love spicy food, Shane doesn't. I’m a thrill seeker, Shane is cautious. I love going on hikes and being outside, Shane says Texas is flat for a reason. I love doing stuff like talking about us and making this magazine, Shane is doing it because he loves me. S: She is an amazing cook, skydives, and is a daring person. She is also obsessed with animals. She is without a doubt the best dancer ever, too. We compliment each other perfectly.

I have never seen her so excited about anything and I loved it because I never thought anyone would be that excited to spend their whole life with me, but she was. What do you love most about each other? A: Plain and simple: Shane is always happy. Even when I'm upset he just keeps making jokes and smothering me with love and affection until I'm happy again. S: She loves me… and she is so entertaining! I laugh non-stop when I am with her. When did you know you’d found the one?
What is one of your favorite memories together? A: As I already mentioned I love hiking and Shane doesn't. But he would go hiking with me anyway. Another reason that I love him is that one day when we first started dating we decided to go on a hike. I looked up this pretty hike in Salt Lake. It was a beautiful day but of course by the time we got to the trailhead it started to rain. We decided it would probably stop soon and to go on the hike. It didn't stop until we got all the way to the lake we were going to. We were soaking wet and a little cold but we walked around the lake we had hiked to talking about life and having fun. We were still in the getting to know you stage and I didn't think he would agree to go walk through the rain for a couple
A: It was Shane's nephew’s birthday party and we went to a trampoline place. There were tons of cute little kids and shane was running around playing with all of them and being so sweet to them. I already had spent enough time with Shane to know he really made me happy and had a strong testimony of the gospel. But watching him play with those kids and seeming what a great father he would make some day is when I realized I wanted to marry him. That was November 2014. We didn't get engaged until November 2015. My family can thank Shane for teaching me patience. S: After of a year dating I slowly started realizing how perfect she was for me. She was already taking care of me: she was already cooking for me on a weekly basis, she was cleaning my house, she was doing my laundry, and we were going to church together every Sunday. Her testimony of Jesus Christ was the thing that sealed the deal. What’s next for you two? A: After our honeymoon we will be moving to Texas and starting our new life together. Shane will be going to school and I will be moving my eyelash business there. We already have a few vacations planned for this summer with our families. I think 2016 will be our best year yet! S: We will be going to the Virgin Islands for 7 days and after that we will be moving to Friendswood, Texas to start our family. #beautyandthebergeson • 7

according to him We first met before I left on my mission to Bogota, Colombia and I was living in Provo, Utah. We met through mutual friends, and we even went on a double date once with different dates. After I got home from my mission, I was with my sister and nephew in Orem, Utah eating at the food trucks. She came up to me and said hi, I was in shock. I had forgotten her name because it had been almost three years since we last saw each other. She had braces, her hair was shorter than normal, and I remember she was wearing a green v-neck with blue jeans. She was adorable.

according to her We first met the summer of 2011 when we both moved up to Provo, UT after High School. We met through mutual friends but were just acquaintances then. Shane went on to serve his two year mission in the BogotĂĄ, Columbia mission and I finished cosmetology and aesthetic school. Three years later during the summer of 2014 we were both in Utah again and ran into each other at a food truck stand. For reasons not even I can explain, completely out of character for me, when I saw him I ran up to him to say hi. After realizing I knew his name but he didn't know mine I awkwardly tried to remind him who I was and then ran back over to my friends and left. I was so embarrassed and I remember thinking he probably thinks I'm some crazy stalker. He called me two weeks later to ask me on our first date. I was in shock.

the proposal
according to him After a year and three months of dating, Aubrey was getting impatient with me. We both knew we were going to get married to each other. During the Thanksgiving break, I had planned to pop the question. I woke up early Saturday morning (I never fell asleep). I had planned to wake Doug and get the evening set up. As I walked into their room, Aubrey was in their bed sleeping with them. I still did not understand why she was there. They then invited me to get in the bed with them. Everything was not going accordingly to my plan. Later after watching two episodes of 12 • Mr & Mrs Bergeson
“Wives With Knives” we went down stairs. I told Aubrey that it was time for her to take a shower and get ready. I had written her a letter to help her prepare for the rest of the day because she told me before that if I proposed and her nails were not nice, she would be livid. I went to the Las Vegas Temple and waited for her there with Del and Lindsey. I waited there for about one hour and I was so nervous. When I saw her, I remember being so excited and even tearing up a little. I got on one knee and asked her to marry me, she said YES! We rode off in the limo that picked Aubrey up and took her to the Temple. We met up with her family for dinner to celebrate and my parents surprised Aubrey there, too.
according to her I knew that it had to be coming soon but I didn't know exactly when. The day it happened we were down in Las Vegas with my family for Thanksgiving. I woke up early that morning to let me dog out to the bathroom and my dad came downstairs and asked me to come lay down with him and my mom to watch tv before everyone else got up. A little while later Shane came in and got in bed with the three of us. When we went down to eat breakfast shane turned to me and said “Are you going to take a shower today? It's been awhile..” Yes that is really what he said and no it wasn't true but I obviously felt the need to shower after a comment like that. When I got out of the shower there was a note waiting for me. It was a really sweet love note from Shane and at the end it told me that someone was going to pick me up at 3 o'clock and that I needed to get ready. After that I pretty much assumed what was going to happen so I rushed went to the mall with my mom and sister to pick out an outfit. When 3 o'clock finally came there was a limo waiting outside for me. When I got in there was a cute little,package waiting on my seat. When I opened it it was a custom book that had pictures of us with our first date, kiss, I love you, and all that jazz. Of course I cried. The whole way there. The next thing I know we are pulling up to the Las Vegas temple and there and people waiting with cameras. Once I got out, they started walking backwards so I followed. When we got to the back of the temple there he was waiting for me. I wanted to run to him but I was in high heels and couldn't. That walk felt like the longest walk of my life. Then there he was down on one knee asking me to be with him forever. I obviously said YES!!! One of my favorite parts though was when we got to dinner after that and my whole family and his parents were there to celebrate with us! Its was so special and I will always remember it!
