I look out into the world, Wherein there shines the Sun Where glimmer all the stars, Where lie the silent stones The plants that live and grow, The beasts that feel and move Where man in soul creates, A dwelling for the spirit. I look inward to the soul That lives within my being The spirit of God is weaving
In sunlight and in soul-life In heights of world without In depths of soul within. Spirit of God to thee I turn myself in seeking That strength and grace and skill For learning and for work May live and grow in me. Rudolf Steiner

Introduction: Unn Inger Oreberg is a style and trend forecaster for footwear. Through this book she will present the key trends for footwear for Spring and Summer 2015. Within this Trend and Colour prediction book, the trends are represented through inspirational images, material swatches and drawings of the essential footwear shapes for Spring and Summer 2015. The prediction book, named “Home, and far, far away” is divided into two themes: “Home: The sustainable vegetable patch” and “Far, far away: The final frontier”. At the end of each theme, there is both a suppliers list and a bibliography.
“Our passionate preoccupation with the sky, the stars, and a God somewhere in outer space is a homing impulse. We are drawn back to where we came from.” - Eric Hoffer

Introduction: From the patch of home-grown turf, to the heart-made space of home; the crop grown in balance with Mother Nature encourages a greater love for live. When sustainability is advocated, the whole community is improved on a global level. • Local: The shorter the distance for the goods to travel, the less fuel is used, the less emission is let out into the atmosphere, the better it is for the ozone layer, the less the ice caps melt. • Organic: With less additives, less pesticides and less fertilizer the earth stays healthier, and when the earth is happier, the people, plants , and animals living there are also happy and healthy. • Fair-trade: When every one from the farmer and cotton picker to seamstress and plant worker is paid and treated with respect and a decent salary, the products provided accumulate a transcendental purpose. • Sustainable: When every link in the supply chain is treated in a nature respecting way, both humans, animals, plants and the planet is smiling. • Recycled: Reusing materials gives a greater sense of intent. • Natural: Makes Mother Nature go: Mmmmmmmmmm...
11
2015 in nature and sustainability: • The first phase of Masdar City is scheduled to be completed. Its goal is to be the world’s first fully sustainable, zero-carbon, and zero-waste city. • Scotland will generate 50% of its electricity from renewable sources. • Sikkim, which started eco-friendly farming from a small area of land about a decade ago, is set to become the first fully organic state in India in 2015. • The Isle of Man will have had the status as a Fair-trade island for 12 years. • The Universal Exposition 2015 in Milan, Italy, will have the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. • UN’s Millennium Development Goals will by 2015 have achieved to have: Halved the proportion of the population without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation; Reduce biodiversity loss, achieving a significant reduction in the rate of loss; and Halved the proportion of people who suffer from hunger.

Healthy, wholesome hunger
“Happy and successful cooking doesn’t rely only on know-how; it comes from the heart, makes great demands on the palate and needs enthusiasm and a deep love of food to bring it to life.” - Georges Blanc
14
“Fashion, for me, is anything that’s aesthetic and beautiful. Art, food, film. It’s something that I appreciate and really like.”
- St. Vincent

Acknowledgements: I would like to express my greatest gratitude to the people who have helped and supported me throughout my Style and colour project. I am grateful to my tutor, Dee Parker, for her continual support for the project; from initial advice and inspiration in the early stages of conceptual development, and ongoing advice and encouragement to this day. I also want to thank Steve Milner for his advice and guidance with the CAD work involved with this project. A special thank of mine goes to my fellow Footwear design students at De Montfort University, who have helped and encouraged me in completing the project. The continuous exchange of interesting ideas and thoughts, have made this project both easy, interesting and fun. Another special thanks goes to my geeky friends for continuously feeding my mind with both old and new Sci-fi masterpieces. I wish to thank my parents for their undivided support and interest, who inspired me and encouraged me to go my own way, without whom I would be unable to complete my project. At last, but not the least I want to thank my friends who appreciated me for who I am, for my work and motivated me to continue my quirkiness.
