Universityof NebraskasystemPresident JeffreyP.Gold reflected ina letter to students,faculty,andstaff ontheopportunitiesfor connectionanddiscoverythat theUniversityof Nebraskacommunityprovides.Markinghis100thdayinoffice,he expressedexcitement about theuniversity'spotential totransitionfromexcellent to extraordinary,withafocusonenhancingstudent success,partnerships,and overall impact acrossNebraskaandbeyond.
Inthepast 100 days,President Gold notedsignificant progress,includingthehighest enrollment since2021, particularlyinkeyworkforceareassuchasagricultureand engineering.Hehighlighted record-breakingphilanthropiccontributionsthat indicate strongsupport fromprivatepartners,whichwill enabletheuniversitytobroadenits reachandeffectiveness.
Lookingahead,President Goldannouncedtheinitiationof acomprehensivestrategic planningprocessaimed at definingwhat it meanstobetrulyextraordinary.Thisplan will beinformedbyinput fromtheentireuniversitycommunityandwill address Nebraska'sevolving needs.
