Nordic-Baltic Ad Competition – “Think.Eat.Save: Reduce your Footprint” http://thinkeatsave.strutta.com/ On the occasion of World Environment Day, the UN and the Nordic Council of Ministers launched a Nordic-Baltic Ad Competition to support the fight against food waste. The Ad Competition calls on designers to create an advertisement to increase public awareness of the increasing scale of food waste in our modern day society and to draw attention to the problem of increasing food waste. Submission deadline: 11 August 2013.

PLURAL+ 2013 Youth Video Festival http://www.unric.org/en/competitions The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) are once again inviting the world’s youth and to share their vision with the world by submitting original and creative videos focusing on the themes of migration, diversity and social inclusion. Now in its 5th year, the PLURAL+ youth video festival is an empowering tool and platform for young people from the ages of 9 to 25 to speak out. Submission deadline: 30 June,2013. 3rd ITU Green ICT Application Challenge http://www.unric.org/en/competitions In support of the “World Environment Day” (WED) and to follow up on the Paris Call to Action on “Smart Sustainable Cities”, ITU and Telefónica have announced a 3rd Green ICT Application Challenge to uncover innovative ICT approaches and applications towards addressing global environmental issues in cities and urban areas.
