CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Under article 4.2, paragraphs (d) and (e) of the Staff Regulations, the filling of vacancies in grades D1 and D2, as well as in grade P5 for all Director positions in field offices, are made by direct selection by the Director-General. In order to fill the following vacancy by direct selection: - Chief, Procurement Bureau (D1) the ILO invites interested candidates to submit their curriculum vitae online by the above date (midnight Geneva time). INTRODUCTION Under the supervision of the Treasurer and Financial Comptroller, the Chief of the Procurement Bureau ("Bureau") is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Bureau and of the technical areas within its purview. The ILO carries out over 14,000 procurement actions annually, with a total value of some US$ 150 million. The Bureau develops, administers and disseminates purchasing and contracting policies, rules and procedures in accordance with ILO Financial Regulations and Rules. The Bureau advises on, plans, coordinates and develops responses to procurement issues which are high-value, strategic and complex in nature. It executes procurement processes for the purchase of equipment, goods, works and services for ILO Headquarters units, external offices and extra-budgetary funded programmes and projects, and provides associated contracting services. The Bureau also provides information and training on purchasing and contracting issues. Description of Duties 1.
