iPad Application
This iPad application is designed to give consumers the greatest possible experience with the Noise Cancelling products offered by Bose®. The application covers 2 key Bose products, the QuietComfort®15 and the new QuietComfort®20. Both feature the Bose “gold standard” we’ve all come to know in Noise Cancelling technology, but the QC®20 is the first time this technology has been incorporated into a Bose® in-ear headphone. This application features demo videos that enhance the experience and showcase the amazing features of each headphone. At the end of the demo, there is the ability to listen to popular music for an even greater experience. Attract Loop: While the application is not being used, an attract loop will be on a continuous loop. This loop notifies the consumer to touch the screen to begin. If there is no consumer standing at the display, the Attract Loop will continue to cycle through until someone engages with the application.
Language Screen: Once the screen is touched and the demo is initiated, an optional language screen will appear. Not every region will have a language screen, especially those with one primary language. This screen only appears if more than one language is selected within the admin panel.
12
iPad Application
Splash Screen 1: Once a language is selected, this first splash screen notifies the consumer that their demo is about to begin. A countdown appears in the bottom left to advise the consumer on how much time they have left until the demo begins playing.
Simulated Demo: Depending on the product that is attached to each iPad, that specific demo video will begin to play.
Splash Screen 2: After the demo is complete, a second splash screen will notify the consumer that their demo is complete and that they have the ability to listen to some music.
Music Player: The music player allows consumers to select and listen to any song that in the list. There is no time limit on to how long a consumer can stay on this. However, if there is no song playing for a period of 30 seconds, a pop-up window will alert the user that the demo is about to end, but also giving them the option to continue their demo period. If the consumer does not choose to extend their time, the application diverts back to the attract loop. 13
iPad Application
Accessing the Admin Panel: In order to allow for the most flexibility, the developed application is equipped to demo multiple units (QC®15 and QC®20) as well as multiple languages (Australian English, UK English, and French). Accessing this Admin Panel is done by performing a few simple gestures while the “Simulated Demo“ is playing. While the demo video is playing, the admin panel can be accessed by a two step process. Step 1: While two fingers (preferably the thumb and index finger) touch the screen and slide the fingers towards each other. This pinching motion initiates the first action.
Step 2: The second step is to, again with the same two fingers, touch the screen and slide the fingers away from each other. If done correctly, these two steps combined should open up the Admin Panel.
14
iPad Application
Navigating Admin Panel: Navigating the Admin Panel is designed to be easy and straight forward. A tabbed system was designed to allow you to jump through steps that are not necessary, but allow for easy changes in the last amount of time possible. The idea is to spend the least amount of time possible when setting up the device, but making it easy to make changes when necessary. Within the Admin Panel you can change the product, what language is viewed, how long the splash screens are active for, the music tracks that should be available, and more. Stats 1: Within the first slide, you get an overview of the analytics built into the application. Information like Total Demos, Songs Played, and Hours Used are critical for collecting data. This creates a running total and incorporates all the languages and products.
Stats 2: On the second page, a more comprehensive chart displays how many demos of each language has been played as well as a list of the top tracks that have been played.
Product Selection: Select which specific device is plugged into the iPad. This option can be changed at any time by accessing the Admin Panel.
15
iPad Application
Language Selection: Based on which specific market you are in, the language selection allows the Brand ambassador to select the appropriate choice for that region. This option can be changed at any time by accessing the Admin Panel.
Music Selection: Based on which specific language has been chose, there are songs specifically targeted towards that region. Some songs are used across all languages while others are only intended to be use in a specific region. Select or de-select the music tracks based on which language(s) you have selected. This option can be changed at any time by accessing the Admin Panel. Timers: The timer section allows you to adjust the countdown on Splash Screen 1 as well as how much time of inactivity there is before the application restarts itself.
Save Selections: Once all of your selections have been made, save those changes. Once the selections are saved, the application will move into demo mode for consumer use.

Bose Overview
In the 1950s, Dr. Amar G. Bose was a grad student at MIT, and a classical music enthusiast. To reward himself for his studies, after careful consideration he purchased a new home stereo system that he hoped would deliver the realism of live music. Though the speakers he chose carried impressive technical specs, they didn’t deliver in real life. His path was clear. Create better, more lifelike sound. Why we innovate We have a simple mission: think of better solutions, create better products, help people enjoy the things they love. Everything we do supports this mission and points us forward. It started when Dr. Bose founded the company in 1964 and continues today with innovative, passionate employees around the globe. And while it’s true that we’re a company built on scientific research, our vision is guided by human interests—how better sound affects us or what it means to find joy in products that work exactly how you want them to or why solid customer service isn’t a nice-to-have, but a promise we keep. But maybe the most important principle we live by is that innovation is not a destination, but a journey requiring new ideas from new players. So we invite creators, inventors, dreamers and talented people from all walks of life to bring their big ideas, passion and enthusiasm to Bose. See how you can be part of our innovation. Our achievements We measure our success by meeting customers’ ever-growing expectations, and that only happens when we innovate. Whether it’s reinventing HDTV home theater or creating better portable music solutions, we’re always moving forward. Here are some of our accomplishments that help bring people closer to enjoy the things they love. Where you’ll hear Bose Our Pro division develops custom-built audio solutions for large-scale projects. They work closely with the facility to create a sound experience that lives up to the Bose reputation. You’ll also find specialized Bose® noise reduction products quietly serving worldwide military forces that face elevated levels of noise daily in the line of duty. Innovation beyond audio We’re applying what we’ve learned through our research and development to solve challenges in new areas. The Bose Ride® system, developed for the heavy-duty trucking industry, offers an unprecedented level of protection from road-induced shocks and vibration. The ElectroForce® systems group is a Bose business providing advanced test instruments for materials research and product development.

Bose Overview
Bose Headphones In 1964, a young MIT professor named Dr. Amar Bose discovered a problem. He found himself entirely disappointed by the performance of a pair of expensive loudspeakers he had just purchased. But he didn’t accept that performance; he saw it as an opportunity. Applying volumes of knowledge and a major dose of curiosity, he invented a revolutionary speaker system that would change the way the world listened to music. That’s what happens when you have a passion for solving problems. And not only did that passion lead to a revolutionary product, but it became the driving philosophy of our company, evidenced by the number of major audio and technology breakthroughs we have introduced over the years. When our attention turned to headphones, we discovered one of the most daunting challenges yet. Controlling noise at the ear, we learned, is one of the critical keys to delivering superior acoustic performance. Being Bose, we chose to solve that problem first. The challenge was so great; it led to more than three decades of research with a relentless persistence to learn and to invent. It’s how we solved the unwanted noise problem for missioncritical aviation and military headphone applications. And it led to our first consumer headphone that electronically reduced unwanted background noise – changing the industry forever. Learning how to control noise this precisely was only the first step. Our ongoing decades of acoustic research have enabled us to understand the fundamentals of how people perceive sound and how they listen to music. So we can focus on delivering unsurpassed audio performance in all of our headphones. We also research the way each element of a design contributes to the overall experience. We choose every gram of material, specify every millimeter of a part, and select every component meticulously so that when it all comes together; you know immediately that nothing in a Bose headphone has been left to chance. The result: headphones that deliver the most accurately reproduced sound we can produce. So no matter where you listen, we are able to deliver what we believe is the best headphone experience possible. In a way no other company can. Unlike publicly held companies, we have the freedom and independence to apply research to problems that may take decades to solve. This long-term vision fuels everything we do, and is what ensures that every headphone we bring to life delivers a better experience than anything we’ve done before. As the world continues to change, the devices we use to listen to our music continue to change. That means we will continue with our relentless pursuit of the best headphone experience in the world.

Featured Technology There are two types of noise reduction: Passive and active. Passive is more of a physical seal that blocks out sound, while active is a method of electronically reducing noise. Covering your ears with your hands is an example of passive noise reduction. Where Bose innovation really shines is in the area of electronic noise cancellation – our headphones have microphones in the earcups that sense all the sounds that you are about to hear. And then proprietary digital signal processing compares those sounds to the sound you want to hear – your music from an audio source or perhaps just some peace and tranquility. The electronics within the headphones react instant by instant to produce an opposite canceling signal that reduces any deviation from the music that you want to hear. This signal, combined with the passive noise reduction of the headphone itself, dramatically reduces unwanted distractions, so that your customer can enjoy their music, or just some peace and quiet.

Why Bose? • Since TriPort technology was first introduced in 1998, Bose engineers continue to leverage years of ongoing research to create a more sophisticated porting structure for these headphones. The result is deep lows and more natural sound from a smaller, lighter, more comfortable headphones. The TriPort acoustic headphone structure is used in all of our consumer headphones and headsets. • The Bose OE2i audio headphones were designed for a comfortable fit, especially when used for extended periods of time. The materials have been selected for their comfort and light weight. The earcups rotate for a gentle, uniform seal. Furthermore, the new headband design fits closely to the listener’s head and applies little clamping force, adding to the comfortable fit. • Significant research helped with the selection of materials, cable construction and manufacturing of Bose headphones and their advanced design contributes to lasting quality. These products have been subjected to rigorous testing to ensure they meet our standards for performance and durability.
