Bohdan Zachary Just like a great American barbecue, this month PBS Milwaukee is putting out a spread of great content for you to savor all month long. From the National Mall for our annual Fourth of July celebration to THE GREAT AMERICAN RECIPE, we have programming you will love. Using pioneering motion-control robotics systems, THE GREEN PLANET will take us on a magical journey, going beyond the power of the human eye to make visible the amazing, hidden life of plants. We learn that plants can plan, they can count — and they can remember. When we left off with the cast of GRANTCHESTER, trouble was brewing in the village. Reverend Will Davenport found himself at odds with his own ideals when Leonard was caught up in a scandal. What is to become of our friends as the new season 7 picks up with them in the hot summer of 1959? We start to find out this month as we also welcome back new seasons of MIDSOMER MURDERS and COBRA as well.
THE GREAT MUSLIM AMERICAN ROAD TRIP Follow a millennial Muslim American couple on a crosscountry journey along historic Route 66. As they meet new friends and explore more than a dozen stops, Mona and Sebastian weave a colorful story about what it means to be Muslim in America today. Finally, THE GREAT MUSLIM AMERICAN ROAD TRIP features a millennial Muslim American couple on a 3000-mile journey across Route 66 as they explore Islam’s deep roots in America. Making over a dozen stops between Chicago and Los Angeles, rapper Mona Haydar and her husband Sebastian Robins visit authors, entrepreneurs, medical students, performers, and others to better understand the centuries-long Muslim experience in the United States. It is a joyous travelogue brought to you through the underwriting of the Milwaukee Muslim Women’s Coalition. Thank you, MMWC. This is the summer of Milwaukee PBS – a buffet of all you like to watch. Enjoy it and, as always, thank you for your support. Vice President & General Manager, Milwaukee PBS

AMERICA OUTDOORS WITH BARATUNDE THURSTON
A new six-part primetime series hosted by New York Times bestselling author (How to Be Black), podcast creator and host (How to Citizen with Baratunde), and outdoor enthusiast, Baratunde Thurston. The series follows him on an adventure-filled journey to explore the diverse array of regions across the U.S. and how those landscapes shape the way Americans work, play and interact with the outdoors. From wilderness pilots flying “below the rim” in Idaho to coal miners turned beekeepers in Appalachia to Black surfers catching waves in Los Angeles, Baratunde introduces viewers to a vivid cast of characters whose outdoor lives are shaped by where they live. AMERICA OUTDOORS reveals a deeper understanding of our passionate yet complicated relationship with the outdoors. Beginning 7/7 at 4pm 10HD Courtesy of PBS

ilwaukee PBS recognizes Rogers Behavioral Health for its generous programming support. Rogers Behavioral Health is a private, not-for profit provider of behavioral health services and is nationally recognized for its specialized psychiatry and addiction services. Rogers offers evidencebased treatment for adults, children, and adolescents with depression and other mood disorders, eating disorders, addiction, obsessivecompulsive and anxiety disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Tucked among acres of woods and lakes in Wisconsin Lake Country, the Oconomowoc location opened in summer of 1907, founded by Arthur Rogers, MD, and his wife, Theresa. The two laid the foundation for what is now one of the country’s largest, private, independent behavioral health systems. In addition to a growing network of outpatient locations in eight states, Rogers operates three inpatient behavioral health hospitals, 15 residential programs and eight outpatient centers in Wisconsin.
Rogers Behavioral Health is sponsoring MASTERPIECE on Milwaukee PBS and sharing its message of employee engagement and satisfaction with the goal of attracting qualified job candidates. Marketing and Communications Director Katie Zapfel explains the partnership, saying, “PBS viewers stand out by their community commitment and compassion. These are some of the same values that we look for in our team members.” When it comes to employee recruitment, a referral can be the strongest endorsement. “Some employees first learn about their jobs from a family member or friend, Zapfel said. “A positive influence can be a strong motivator.” The Rogers Behavioral Health system also includes Ladish Co. Foundation Center, home to Rogers Research Center, the Rogers Foundation, and the Ronald McDonald Family Room®. In addition, Rogers leads the nationwide WISE coalition with the goal of eliminating stigma related to mental health and substance use disorders. Learn more at rogersbh.org.
