The Mill Singers Male Voice Choir gave a well-attended concert in Horsington Parish Church under new musical director Nikki Budd. The well-received repertoire was made up of music that was easy-listening, light and fun – swing and pop, songs from the shows,
spiritual and humorous numbers. The event raised a significant sum for church funds, following the deduction for the choir’s expenses. Church members provided a cream tea after the concert. The Mill Singers are based in the Sturminster Newton/
Blandford area, although some members come from further away, such as Crewkerne, Milborne Port and Horsington! The companionable and fun-loving choir, which gives four to six concerts a year in aid of good causes, is always ready to welcome new faces
and auditions are not required. Anyone interested in either joining, or attending a Thursday evening rehearsal for a ‘taster’, is invited to contact either the chairman, Tudor Hill, on 01258 861225 or membership secretary Andy Jackson on 01963 250385.
