It is easier to turn a blind eye to societal environmental issues than to face them, when they are hidden from view. Turn aims to provide a pedestal for the issues contamination, and housing inaccessibility parading them in an exposed nature.
St Peters has long been positioned to more ‘desirable’ adjacent suburbs; on the railway line, rather than a destination. multiple towering, shingled cones proposed as way-finding beacons for St Peters, Brickworks chimneys. In this sense, itself serves as a mode of connection suburb; reframing the site as a destination a bypass, and providing a cultural and icon within St Peters.
