1. What single are you pushing? How did you come up with the theme? and where can fans download it at? The single is called “Outta My Face” featuring Roddy Pype and Skeez the producer. The song came along when I was in the studio and happen to be talking about rappers who don’t put in work like we do. We made 30 plus songs in a week so my team like “they just like to talk about it/but they ain’t doing it! And the rest came along as us three cooked it up in the booth. Fire track make sure yall listen to it on that new DJ King Assassin mixtape. 2. What is the music scene like for you in your city and what are you doing to stay relevant? My city is where I came from, The Bronx Vyse Avenue 174st. Also know as Vyse City. There is a lot of history from The Bronx. The hip-hop scene began in The Bronx. I grew up around Peter Gunz and BigPun. I used to see them pull up on the building and pay the hood homage. At that time, I didn’t even know how to write English. I would listen to Big Pun and the way he put his rhythm scheme and lyrics together truly

6

inspired me. I thought, if he is Puerto Rican and I am Dominican, I can do it as well; open paths for culture. I began writing lyrics when I was 15 and by the time I turned 20, I was doing shows in Los Angles, California while making beats for a lot of artists in the industry .For me, staying relevant means working with the real ones. 3. Who is your musical inspiration? I get my inspiration from my life; it’s my story, my baby boy “Kayden”. Along the roads and pathways that I have taken to get to where I stand today, I’ve lost a lot of real ones. Rest in peace Peedit Pop Off, Ant, Oscar, El Gordo, Devon and many more. It’s a non-stop journey and I am heading up 4. From a rappers perspective, why do you think DJs play wack music? A lot of DJs haven’t got any other options because they are in it for the money and that’s what a lot of these wack rappers been bringing to their plate. If a DJ gets over $30,000 to play a song it’s kind of hard to turn down the deal. The way I see it is the way to do it now is to have your own DJ. DJ Esco and Future worked together and hosted his mixtape and then went on tour together. Teamwork makes the dream work at the end of the day. and you got to just keep grinding non-stop.

1. How did you make a name for yourself in the industry? I made a name for myself by doing open mics. I started with spoken word then when I got comfortable on stage I started performing my music. 2. What keeps you focused as an artist? My determination to succeed keeps me focused. I knew this road wasn’t going to be easy so I prepared myself for the hard times and the struggle. 3. What’s your latest single your pushing and how can fans get involved? Right now I have. 2 singles I’m pushing. “Y’all gone have to see me” and “I’m Turnt”. Fans can get involved by following all my social media pages and liking and sharing all of my projects and posts. 4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Family Time

The 27th of December was a great night in Sherman oaks, California for Untouchable Magazine. We were invited to the weekly viewing party with the cast members of the show titled “Family Time”, Created by Bentley Kyle Evans Starring Omar Gooding, Angell Conwell, and Tanjareen Thomas. Everyone there got a chance to witness the season finale of episode 13 Season 4. During our exclusive interview with Omar Gooding he revealed to us that they would start season 5 in March 2017. He mentioned the show is aired on Bounce TV Network. Bounce TV is the first and only over the air broadcast network for African Americans. In other words like Omar Gooding would say “it’s Free Television” and it’s the only one out there. Shows that you want to see force you to pay for cable in order to see it but not with Bounce TV. Bounce TV is FREE so it’s in 90% of all the blacks households, which explains why it’s #1 on the network. Omar Gooding is also one of the producers and writers. He talked about how the shooting is so fast paced with the cast members knocking out 13 episodes in one month. Aside from the acting and Family Time show, Omar Gooding said he has a album on the way and wants everyone in the meantime to check out the link in his bio on Instagram @OmarGooding for his latest music video on there. We also had the chance to sit down and chop it up with Bentley Kyle Evans Jr. For those who don’t know he is the creator of the show son. He explained to us that just because he is the director’s son that this is an all work and no play situation. With that being said his father made Bentley audition for his role on the show. Bentley says, “Being on set of the show he has to take the home out of it”. Bentley goes on to say that a lot of the stuff that is written in the show actually goes on his their household. Bentley plays the character Devin Stallworth, Anthony Stall-

worth (Omar Gooding) Son. He’s been featured in 21 episodes thus far. Everyone be on the look out for Bentley endeavors in the future. Untouchable Magazine had the opportunity to sit down and get an exclusive interview with the untouchable Tiffany Pollard A.K.A New York from the “Flavor of Love” Starring Flavor Flav. It was great to see New York come out to the “Family Time” viewing party after curing from influenza. New York came out to have a great time and to see the season finale of “ Family Time”. New York mentioned that she has a brand new talk show coming out on VH1 that is a digital program. New York includes she did season 2 of “ Famously Single” which will be airing on E in March 2017. Immediately after, our host Lovey pops the big question asking New York “ your not single no more right?” New York replied, “She goes back and forth”. On top of everything she mentioned she has another 3 shows she is shooting that she wants her fans to stay tuned for. Tiffany quotes “her fans will get sick of her in 2017”. Untouchable hopes to feature Tiffany Pollard on our front cover this summer. It was a successful night for the “ Family Time” cast members and for Untouchable Magazine. We would like to thank Tone from the club Stir, Krissy from KandyKane Konsultants, Lovey our host, Dave da Hustla (the man behind the camera), and Luis Moreno our newest member on the team. We also interviewed an up and coming all girls group called “ Urban Extreme” who happened to perform that night in Sherman Oaks. 1. Hello and what’s up DJ King Assassin how has life been treating you? Hello Untouchable thanks for having me on the block here I’m honored to have the gracing of this issue I thank GOD and yourself for the love. It’s been a long road a lot of episodes that I seen in life I’m Just glad to be here and still good to be alive, I seen many of my loved ones come and go and to be here still standing is a blessing. Hey it’s been a rough battle in my life dealing with health issues to loved ones dying out of the blue its crazy rest in peace to Big Syke who recently just passed which touched me close to home because he was straight family who if I didn’t see in person I was on the phone with him on a constant basis, I’m going to miss him along with the rest of the family we lost lately life’s short. 2. Why do DJ’s stop playing artist music? Either because you have to play it because its hot at the time and your just playing it to fulfill request and deep down inside you hate the record lol and it will fade out like the rest of the songs you don’t like but have to play it at the time that’s just how that goes however, the great songs will always remain in my crates from the first time I decide to play them till the very end of the last day I spin my final records and give up my digital crates to the next DJ to spin my terrabytes of great music I collected over the years. 3. How did you hook up with Tupac and become his DJ? That was all out of just hanging

20

Twitter: untouchablemag

Most true Tupac fans are patient and support what we do and stand by what we decide to do at the end of the day we have to keep the legacy alive so please all be patient.

around the underground in the early beginnings we all started out of the Bay Area initially so if you were making music back then in the early 90’s you were around Tupac. I used to see Pac everywhere before he was even famous but mostly around my friends “Digital Underground”. I like to be around places like the Gavin Convention, DNA lounge, Dekko Club in Frisco if you were around then you would run into Pac like many of us from the bay have before Pac even blew up it was just like that. That was the scene; everyone knows everyone. Tupac had a lot of close friends and DJs including myself DJ Diz E, Klark Gable, DJ Darryl, DJ Fuze, so I can’t fully take the credit on that of being his only DJ because I scratched on his records just like Eazy E’s records or Ice T, Rob Base, Wyclef, Kokane, Cold187 the list goes on. I would be there DJ either in the studio or sometimes just fill in at performances people labeled me that because I was just the scratch master and did cuts on a couple of Tupac records including the ones I produced for Tupac or any random shows when he needed me or the promoter throwing the event needed me so that’s how really I got labeled that title.

all come together from Echo to Blue Palm studios it was a master piece I did a write up for billboard magazine that explains in depth on how that song came about to the first unreleased version to the retail version it was a true story no one ever knew about besides the labels at the time and Pac and engineers you can go to http://www.billboard.com/articles/ columns/hip-hop/7357872/ tupac-dear-mama-original-versionstream To hear the whole story of that and also stream the unreleased version.

5. What was it like for you to transition from analog to digital as far as equipment? Did it take time to learn the new programs? Which way do you like better and why? Great question, I went from analog to digital to later find myself reverting back to analog because the digital sound sounded to tincannish for me I hated it so I broke out my old school reel to reels to record to this day on them at first they were real intricate looking then I had some friends explain them in details and I caught on fast I used a software called Reason a lot then got tired of it and said you know what time to use the classic pieces of vintage 3.5 disk

4. What was your best memory with Tupac? When Tupac talked about how the song Dear Mama was going to make people cry he knew that that song was going to do that effect on people ill never forget what he told me when he explained that to me I was there at Echo Sound when he recorded the joint and seen it IG: untouchablemagazine

Mpc’s to Ensoniqs Asr 10’s, X’s, 16 pluses etc. I like the old school way better because it was less mouse moving and just hands on button moving fast to a vibe that cannot be duplicated and feel it adds to the creation to have that flow not taking away from new equipment because I love new drum machines like the machine but there are not many as satisfying to a MPC, SP-1200, 808 to just touch and get your hands back on that’s legendary to me. 6. Rumor is your coming out with a Movie titled “ Makaveli” what’s the Release date? Where will it be available to view? Can you tell us some of the cast including who’s playing Tupac? Release date will be in 2017 sometime after the “All Eyes on me” release I want it that way because I don’t want this documentary to take away or get taken away from any other hype out there on anyone else doing anything Pac related. I’m not in it to make a dollar out of 15 cents. I’m here to just document my life experiences with Tupac, and others who enjoyed his presence while he was with us that’s all, and to give the people he knew a voice on what Pac experienced and shared with them when no other documentaries or movies even touched on so many they don’t know about or stories never covered on it going to be cool when we drop it. I’m going to offer it as a free download probably from directly my own website then share different scenes on social media about it that’s how I feel people should drop things nowadays just like that I’m ahead of the game always not behind I like doing the un-normal to make cats be like daaaaaaaaammmm he did that! Its a documentary not any reliving or acting going on in this film unless its a tiny replay of a segment portraying todays youth of how the youth was so important to Tupac. 7. What do you plan to do with 2Pacs archives? At this time the archives are closed

22

Twitter: untouchablemag

at least mine and any other mixes we have and will spill some on the soundtrack of the Makaveli series or my biopic that I’m also currently doing so a must wait for it in time people ask me all the time on it but the collectors harass me to share or think they know it all more than us Tupac producers either on forums or just inboxing me I swear the more they think they know or don’t appreciate what we have left makes it hard for us to release anything because of the pressure some fans give or un-appreciation for it. Most true Tupac fans are patient and support what we do and stand by what we decide to do at the end of the day we have to keep the legacy alive so please all be patient. 8. Tell everyone about your show 98.2 the beat. Times, dates, cohost, and how can artist get their song in rotation. I started 98.2 the beat over 10 years ago as one of the first internet hiphop stations in the West Coast along with my brother Osirus from Swurv Radio we were the first before anyone and we both happen to have grew up with each other so that parts way cool. My show on 98.2 The Beat and now syndicated on real FM radio in Los Angeles on 98.5 The Mix is every Sunday night from 11pm to 12am midnight and my co-host rotates one day I can have Wyclef as a co-host to Jackie Chan to your neighborhood class teacher there’s no set rules to it you never really know so just tune in to find out on that given Sunday and let it be a surprise so u can keep on coming back as you should lol. As far as rotation you can just visit our site at http://www.982thebeat. com/get-radio-rotation.html 9. Explain to artist how important is it to learn the business side of things if you’re going to be in the music business. Very important because if the paperwork is not there or looked over more than likely your setting yourself up for a surprise that might not be the surprise of gifts your IG: untouchablemagazine

expecting, find the right lawyer attorney if your not independent and signing to someone period point blank because it can get ugly! 10. Why do Dj’s playing wack music? Is it really all about the money? It’s definitely about the money and to keep their jobs plain and simple but you can’t keep fooling the kids and people too long for every smart kid there’s a smart phone!

11. Share with the world how hard you worked towards landing yourself a spot on the billboard? Didn’t hit Billboard til’ about 12 years after dropping 20 albums to be exact it didn’t come easy alotta hard work I tell ya. 12. Tell readers about Tupac’s Rock N Roll hall of fame you are promoting and how they can get involved and vote? As you can see it was very important to me to promote that for Pac i felt he needed to win that because it was important to the world of hip-

hop as a whole and not to just us but the entire living world of all genres people forget sometimes rock n roll includes hip-hop because we included them in hip-hop from Billy Squire samples to we will rock you samples and heavy guitar riffs from LL COOL J records ROCK THE BELLS to RUN DMC KING OF ROCK says it all 13. Why is it that Tupac does not have a star in Hollywood? Because it takes a family member to sign that off and even the star organization needs a fee of the entity or family have to pay the star fee of about 10 grand to issue the star so I truly believe it will happen in time especially after winning the rock and roll hall of fame but they been wanting pac to have a star whenever the estate says so it will happen so we respect that and wait. 14. Now that you’re the host of the New WestCoast Hip Hop Awards can you tell us a little about what’s in store? When is it? Who is performing?. Where is it located and how did you land something like this? I’ll be hosting it yes and it will be alotta fun so just come down to check it out and see the surprises in store! In definitely August 2017 the dates have not been fully set yet so stay in tune and follow me on twitter @djkingassassin for updates. Performers are not yet released so stay on lock it’s located where we all started out at including me and Tupac the Bay Area Oakland California big ups to Octavius Miller for the opportunity he just reached out to me to do so you have to ask him how I landed that LOL I still don’t know, but I’m not arguing that in any kind of way but blessed and thanking GOD! 15. When is the new Assassin album set to drop? Shooting for the same month of August as the West Coast Hip Hop awards so that’s going to be real nice and one last thing keep GOD first and stay Untouchable!!!

OG DJ Johnny’O

I started my DJ career 39 years ago (1977). One hot summer day my neighbor came home from the service with a lot of sound equipment. I use to race dirt bikes so I entertained the youth & younger kids by doing wheelies up & down the street. My neighbor set up his Sound system and started playing music; everyone ran over to our house and was listening and dancing to the music. Dougie started teaching my friends to play music so I had to get into it because all of the girls were into the music and hanging on Doug’s arm. Over the next few years I started going to gigs with Dougie, Terry Macklin and others. I learned to play the right songs at the right time and how to read a crowd. 1980 I went off to college at Youngstown State, back in Cleveland our station FM 108 started a 2hour Mixshow that let street DJs come in and spin for 2 hours 6 days a week, even started a annual on air DJ battle. We finally got our shot to DJ live on air and the station manager Dean Rufus was impressed enough to offer me a weekly show, I called

it Wicked Wednesdays with the Wizzard. I crowned myself the Wizzard because while at college I worked at YSU’s station WSRD the Wizard. Came home summer of 1981 and brought my 1st set of 1200’s formed a rap group called The Grand Wizzard DJ JohnnyO & the Mighty Sorcerer Crew we went on to perform at every festival and Caberet we could to get our name known across the city. 1984 the Jerry Frisson tour comes to town and she’s looking for the Hottest act to open for Kurtis Blow, Dr Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde and others. My friend and station PD Lynn Tolliver suggested she use us. She did and once I got word we went all the way out on our show to impress our city, well we tore it up and the crowd brought us back out for a stating ovation. Mrs. Frisson was so impressed she offered us to join her 44 city tour. Only thing I had to drive my van, they paid us $300 per show a room, food and gas. It was a great experience and I became good friends with the likes of LL COOL J, DJ RED ALERT, KANGOL, KURTIS BLOW, DR. JECKYLL & MR. HYDE, WHODINI and a host of others. I have dj’d In every club, hall & festival in Northeast, Ohio. 1985 went to NYC and entered the New Music Seminar DJ Battle taking 3rd place behind DJ Easy G and DJ Cheese, it was a great battle! One of my crew Errol Holloman went on to become the 1st and ONLY Human Beat Box World Champion. 1986 did a DJ Demonstration with DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince at the Mad Hatter. My street promotion was crazy because we didn’t have the Internet we had to get in the street and touch the fans hand them a flyer. 1988 my partner Wild C & I started IT’S A RAP MAGAZINE we did interviews with everyone from Queen Latifah, Heavy D to Naughty By Nature and even Montell Jordan. One trip to Atlanta we drove down with enough gas to get there but not back. Just in our FAITH and beliefs we did and meet and Interviewed Boys II Men, ABC, and GEORGE CLINTON even admired our story he brought us in his room and gave us a great interview and backstage passes. My street sense eventually landed me and my partner DJ Wild C (RIP) and job with Russell Simmions on the 1st DEF JAM Street Team in 93-94. Continuing my club DJing and performances all around the USA our name continued to grow. DJing 5 to 6 nights

The Nerve DJs has a big impact on music because a lot of the label reps watch what we play and are always on our conference calls and our eBlasts which hits over 50K of our contacts.

a week and still working construction during the day afforded me the great opportunities to go out on the road, buy the newest and best equipment print the flyest flyers, have the best promo for our brands and so fourth. In the early 2002 I walked into a construction meeting and sat across from my soon to be partner. The young man asked me you’re DJ Johnny O, I said yes we introduced ourselves and his name is John as well. John told me “How would you like to download your music while you sleep?” John caught my attention, I said how much? John went on to explain the concept and it’s been on ever since. It was an FTP he had set up giving us access via username & password. We would copy and paste the file to our desktops and they would download overnight this is way before high speed. Once I seen how this would turn the DJ game around I started telling every DJ in Cleveland by the end of that month I had 30 additional DJs buying from the FTP. We started having weekly meetings on Sunday’s at each other’s houses, seeing that I was the big name in the city it wasn’t hard to recruit new members. By the end of 2002 we had decided on a name and our meetings became monthly because our membership was at 90 djs just in Cleveland. Incorporated in early 2003 under the name NERVE DJs, LLC and started our pursuit to build our own website. Neither of us had any ideal how or who so I reached out to my unions Web developer and by the end of 2003 we had nervedjs.com up and running. Our mission was to give the working djs a place to get all of their music without searching all over Twitter: untouchablemag

Dj Johnny O Interview the internet all night. A one stop shop for music, the money was coming in the djs were happy but the artists still needed to get their music in and the competition was growing so we stopped charging the DJs and focused on getting the artists music to the djs and charged an upload fee per song or mixtape. It worked great, so then we added artist performances to our monthly meetings giving the artists instant feedback from 30 to 50 djs on the spot.

1. Who is DJ Johnny O? I am a 40 year OG DJ that cares about breaking unknown artists, teaching DJs the correct way to turn events out, networking and Maintaining the Integrity of the DJ!

In 2009 I was approached by Big Heff to join our team he & I had a few meetings and we brought Heff on as VP on the Nerve DJs. Heff was working records for a few labels and had a good reputation in Ohio. He saw our grind and how long we had been doing it and we saw just how hard he was working so it was a done deal. 2010 we made the announcement that Big Heff was our new VP. That same year we started our Bi weekly conference call. Still going strong 5+ years later. We mix the major & Independent artists with the djs on one call, interview each artist play their track and give them instant feedback and 2weeks of promotion and service their music to all of our djs.

3. How do you know a hot track when you hear one? The CHILLS if it gives me the chills it’s a HIT! I listen to the music then the lyrics, as a DJ that came up spinning wax I listen for song I think will move my audience.

Over the next four or five years we grew to around 300 djs in the USA nervedjs.com was getting out dated and again we had to make a power move, so I started NerveDJsMixtapes.com in 2012 and went public February 2013 a division of NERVE DJs, LLC.

2. How did you become a DJ? Attention. We all love it and in my bio I explain it best. I was torn away from my first love of showing out on my Dirt bike by the music and I been here ever since.

4. How can artist get their song in rotation with Nerve DJs? It’s easy, just create a profile, upload their single and purchase one of our inexpensive promotion packages, that’s the fastest way. Reach out to me create a relationship and send me some dope shit and I will play it. 5. Why do DJ’s play wack music? Because it’s there, No really when all you hear is what you call back that’s all the consumers know. Some DJ’s don’t know how to break an unknown in with a major artist; all they know is play what radio is playing or what every other DJ is playing. There are some Dope DJ’s out here and we have over 30 on Nerve Djs Radio alone. Download our Mobile and listen.

Today The Nervedjs MP3 pool services over 3000 djs/members daily with music and videos from artists around the global. 434-637-8357

6. Tell the world about the Nerve DJs, who they are, how they started, and what type of impact does the Nerve DJs leave on an artist track? Formed in 2002 by four DJs because the local record pool wouldn’t service some of us DJs, 15 years later we now are over 4000 members, The Nerve DJs has a big impact on music because a lot of the label reps watch what we play and are always on our conference calls and our eBlasts which hits over 50K of our contacts. One way we make a impact on a single is when artists purchase our exclusive or bigger packages they are added to as many as 25 mixtapes.

I Love Hip-Hop and as a DJ I’m committed to Maintaining the Integrity of the DJ!!! DJ Johnny O

7. How many DJs total are official Nerve DJs? Over 2000 Official DJs

We do conferences & showcases as well as quarterly tours throughout the Midwest. SXSW is one of our Annual showcase as well as the BET Hip-Hop Awards on Atlanta and our Annual Anniversary held in Cleveland every June.

With Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2 set to come out May 5th. It’s safe to say the trailer has been watched and re-watched by the massive fan base. Here we will be breaking down the elements that make the silver screen experience whole. First, the movie itself second, the soundtrack lastly, the 22 pages that started it all (comics). “Guardians of the Galaxy” Vol.2 brings Marvels universe favorite gang of misfits back together again. This time the teams on a search for Star Lords real father. If you have seen the first installment in this ass kicking space adventure then like most you will be expecting a certain level of shit talking and ass kicking all done over a great arrangement of melodies. The teaser trailer did just that with Rocket back to his explosive ways he and Groot provide a good laugh while Star Lord and the gang bring the pain. All of this takes place over the classic Fleetwood mac track ‘The Chain’. If this track doesn’t strike a chord in your mental library maybe you’ve heard it sampled by Sway in 04 for his ‘up your speed track’ and later by Bone thugs-N-harmony on their 2007 track ‘wind blow’.

Between the comic-con and teaser trailer it looks as if director James Gunn is putting together yet another bang up soundtrack. And it will have some big shoes to fill with the first soundtrack being certified platinum by the RIAA in 2015. The album was also the US’s second best-selling soundtrack of 2014 behind only the soundtrack to frozen. For a better understanding of how and why the gang works so well together you can pick up the latest issue of GOTG grounded NOW#1. This takes place in the comic timeline when the second civil war takes place. Here you will find Star Lord, Drax, Gamora, Groot, and Rocket as well as ben grimm aka the thing of the fantastic four and venom from spider-man. This is a perfect example of just how intertwined the marvel universe is and how we hope to see the films become. The comic follows each character as they live day to day on earth awaiting their ship to be repaired. So weather its the soundtrack the movie or my personal favorite a good old fashion comic book you have plenty of time to get a feel for wait awaits you May 5th 2017.

Latest News 2 Chainz turns down invite to perform at Trump Inauguration 2 Chainz likes to keep a lot of his personal problems to himself but he could not help but to take to his instagram Friday January 13th. The Def Jam rapper said “ I know they only doing this because they cant get nobody else”. Moral of the story 2 Chainz had to “say nah” no matter how much money they offered him. He didn’t get his chance to go to the white house while Obama was in office so probably wont be going anytime soon. Although Chainz didn’t accept the invite doesn’t mean everyone will deny it. YG already said he would do it for 4 million dollar and he would love to perform “ FTD”. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see who perform at Trumps Inauguration.

President Obama delivers his farewell speech in Chicago It’s been a great eight-years thus far having Barack Obama in office. He has done so much for the United States of America. First he took us out of a war we were in, than withdrawal our troops back from Iraq and home safely. Secondly, he took America out of one of our biggest recession we ever been in decades. Since 2009, people have been struggling and not able to pay their bills, cover their mortgage, and simply afford everyday expenses. Third, as a result of the recession Obama created 15 million jobs while he was in office helping those Americans who were not able to cover rent an opportunity. He lowered gas prices, had the most fundraisers, Marijuana Raids, and so much more he does not get credit for. Furthermore, Obama changed history forever being the first black president of the Untied States. January 10 Obama said his goodbye’s to the world in Chicago. He thanks everyone even those he never seen eye-to-eye with. Obama quotes “ You made me a better president, and you made me a better man”. I think its say to say they don’t want Obama to leave the office as the audience continued to shout “ Four more years!, Four more year!”. If you missed his farewell speech be sure to pull out your smart phone and Google it. Obama will always be remember and go down in history. Great Job Obama you made America Proud.
