Plier Sync 1. When did you first start making music? When I was younger, I would listen to hip-hop while spraying graffiti all over town. Most of my friends loved hiphop to and many of them were DJ’s. So you could say hip-hop was close to me always. It influenced my circle of friends including myself. I think I was at the age of 18 when I first started to create music with them.

4

2. Tell everyone about your latest single out right now? I released my album, “Galaxy” last year. On that album tour, Spanky Loco and Sleepy Malo accompanied me, as they were also a part of this album. I also invited Solo Sinatra and Gangster Twist to come to Japan to announce our new song “Logic” at our tours. We are planning to shoot a video in Los Angeles for next time.

Newly released song, “Fuck Shit” with Chicano Rapper’s Jasper Loco. I am planning to release a new album as well. 3. Explain your experience working with Slaughterhouse rapper Crooked- I? I was introduced to TICO, the CEO of Treacherous Records by my boss during my L.A. live show in 2008. When I went to hang out at the stu-

dio, Crooked was there and wanted to hear our music. It was right then and there, where we selected a track and hit the record button as we created the song “Circle of Boss”. Within my short 2 to 3 day stay I met up with Treacherous Record’s to create two songs one called “Strange Streets” and another called “South Side” from Smooth Hustle Record’s Sonny Blue and Z-Gunz from Chicano Rapper. 4. How do you plan to get sale in the USA? For me, I am not looking to be part of a big record label. Everything I have done up until now has primarily been for freelance and for myself, so I do not have any special plans going forward. I do it because I just enjoy it. Although I am not perfect at speaking English, the fact that I was able to collaborate with many artists and exchange one’s culture to each

other has been a very humbling experience. “The flow of naturally connecting with others” is what I would like to call it. Also, for those who are reading this article, I was able to let everyone know a little bit of Japan. I am content with just spreading the culture around. For my future works, I plan on adding a small taste of Japan in my upcoming music videos. Last year in Japan, we had a album tour for “Galaxy”, but in October of this year, there will be tour part. 2. which will be taken place in Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas with the M.O.B.G Crew. 5. Describe Japan’s music environment? I feel that lot’s of Japan’s music today is controlled by the big companies in the music industry. Music groups such as idols are constantly on the top charts, monopolized on the media, and are solely made just to make

money. The music we make is very difficult to reach normal everyday people. Also, my body is covered in tattoos but since it is still a taboo subject in Japan, sponsors that care about what the media thinks would never allow me to be involved with them. This is what we’re dealing with in Japan, so I always wanted to spread my music worldwide. I always thought to myself that rather than “Playing it safe” I would “Challenge” everything. It’s who I became. 6. What does your name stand for? My name is a play of two words, “Synchronicity” and “Multiplier”. Just like Carl Jung had stated about “Synchronicity, events are “Meaningful Coincidences” if they occur with no causal relationship yet seem to be meaningfully related. And by “multiplying it”, it would mean more people will have more meaningful coincidences.

I always thought to myself that rather than “Playing it safe” I would “Challenge” everything. It’s who I became. multipliersync

New Single “Luxury” available on all digital media outlets New EP titled “Quality Over Quantity” available on all digital media outlets.

Kracka is a very talented up and coming MC from Grass Valley, California. When it comes to lyrics and delivery, Kracka is a very gifted storyteller that paints a picture of his world and brings it to your ears. Kracka is defined as an oddball rap artist but he definitely has what it takes to stand amongst West Coast rappers as a lyricist. In 2017 Kracka introduced his first single “Luxury” sponsored by his Instragram buddies @iRapWorld @Lgfromthabay @Sarbchild & @Rmanigga. Kracka hopes to grow musically and release his first EP “Quality Over Quantity” and more projects to follow. Kracka was influenced by Shady and Biggie a lot as a teen. Kracka chose to be an emcee because he felt like music was the only thing that took away all his empty feelings. He also can’t seem to find passion in anything else. Music makes Kracka feel alive in this cold world. In the next five years expect Kracka to keep making music non-stop. Also expect the unexpected from that white boy named Kracka.

Shaudra Model Name: MsShaundra City and State: Pomona, Ca Height: 5’8 1/2

Booking info: ms.shaundra@gmail.com MsShaundra Shannyo 4 MsShaundraTheModel Hobbies: I love to dance, learn new recipes to cook, sketching new designs for looks I would like to create. Influences: My influence and inspiration comes from the Lord (of course) and anyone who is positive. I believe many people with different backgrounds and stories can contribute to your life and your successes. Some good, some bad but for the most part I try to surround myself with positivity as much as possible. Favorite Food: I don’t have one specific food. Ummm…I love Fufu which is an African dish I grew up on, I love Italian food, Southern food, Barbeque, etc…. Yup, I can admit, I’m a foodie! Lol! Favorite Color: Blue all day! Favorite artist: I don’t have a specific artist but the artist who I favored growing up was the lovely Ms. Lauryn Hill. I adore her so much. I also like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Kim, Missy, Eve, Jay, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Hot Boys, Lil Wayne, Drake, etc…. Lol! Biggest accomplishment? My biggest accomplishment thus far is being featured in this publication. I paused on modeling for a while and coming back into the scene with this publication is awesome!

Nothing that’s good comes easy, and nothing that’s easy is good.” -ShaundraE 1. What made you get into the modeling industry? Growing up I was very shy but at the same time very photogenic. Along with being very photogenic I loved to dance. Everyone knew me for that. I figured if I was to enter in the industry through one of these doors something will happen to where all will come together. So I started in ‘09’ and kept going ever since. 2. Have you featured in any music videos thus far? Yes, I’ve worked with a few artist and featured in their videos such as Alter’d Ego, Goon Platoon, Disko Boogie and American rapper Kurupt, all who were directed by my good friend Charles Clemmons aka C2 just to name a few. 3. What is the model scene like for you in California? It’s very diverse, a lot of room to build and create your own lane! 4. What are you doing to set yourself apart? I don’t feel that it’s necessary to try and set myself apart because of who I am and how I carry myself, that automat-

ically does it for me. At the end of the day all I can be is me. There’s millions of people trying to set themselves apart and at the end, they end up looking the same. I rather do me in everything I do. 5. What can fans and readers expect from you for the rest of 2017? Expect more pictures, model and dance visuals, ((a cloth alert)) apparel, and probably more features, you just got to stay tuned! 6. If you could change anything about modeling what would you change and why? I feel the model industry needs to be more open to every model body type and look. Although I’ve seen over the years that the model industry has expanded their market, there’s still a struggle of true acceptance especially with women who have curves. When I say women of curves, I’m not speaking on plus size models. Even though I would be considered that, I still feel that I don’t look like the typical plus size model. So what about the women who’s in between like me? I would really like to see women with curves in high fashion and not limited to urban or commercial modeling. I would change that mindset that only a specific type can rock couture, and focus on each model strongest assets and showcase their true beauty to the world in an elegant and classy way.

All Eyez on ME

Movie review written by David Solis

18

After watching the Tupac film for the very first time and seeing it on the big scene I must say I was impressed. I want to first congratulate the director Benny Boom and the writers Jeremy Haft, Eddie Gonzalez, and Steven Bagatourian on their hard work. “All Eyez on Me” is a tough movie to shoot because Tupac went through many different walks of life. So to try to sum up a legend like Tupac life in a 2 hour and nineteen minute movie is impossible. Image the movie had clips of Tupac as a child, in school interacting with other kids, his involvement with the Black Panther, his talent as a poet, and much more details on every situation, live footage from the past and maybe even a few sit down interviews from some of his close people. In other words I guess what I’m trying to say is he is so great this should have been a two-disc movie similar to “Titanic”. Let’s be honest Tupac can make a 2 hour movie off the making and the experience of his very first album “2Pacalypse Now”. Every situation he went through told a different message. Every album he made painted a different picture. Demetrius Shipp Jr. brought Tupac role to life in the “All Eyez on Me” film. Tupac is a tough role to play and he nailed it for the most part. However, I did feel he look goofy performing as Tupac on stage on some parts of the movie. But it could just be me. Tupac was serious and meant his words he wrote in songs. For example check out his performance on youtube at the Source awards in 1994. The movie is getting a lot of mixed reviews and was on the scene for one moment and now I feel like nobody really talking about it anymore. Will the Tupac movie be considered as a classic? Many celebrities liked the movie and said nothing but great things about it. On the other hand other people have said it wasn’t what they expect and that a lot of stuff that happened in the movie didn’t really happen in real life like the Jada Pinkett scene. Both the directors and writers did a fantastic job summing everything up into a 2 hour and nineteen minute movie. To cover so many angles in that short amount time great and the movie deserves an Academy Award in my opinion. What do you think?

Creating a Strong Brand By Kristy Steele

Capturing your audience with an authentic story, that’s the real art of branding. Seriously, think to yourself, “How can I connect to the person listening to my music, reading my book, or viewing my products online?” Just like in all aspects of life, not everything is for everyone…do not push yourself to reach a demographic that is not parallel with your craft. Be sure to have a pen and paper ready to take some notes when asking yourself these questions! This is about creating your story, not just any story; your story should inspire an emotional connection of some sort. Think to yourself: Why have you chosen your favorite musician(s), what is the emotional connection you feel with their music? In the early stages of creating a successful brand you need to consider your name, logo, and visual imagery; including color selections or symbols. Those will be three very crucial keys to you maintaining your identity and individuality. Brand’s like Apple, and Xbox, all have an easily recognizable name and logo to accompany their visual presence. Both brands mentioned above dominate their sectors of the market and do so with the help of great story telling. Apple tells the story of revolutionary technology advancements, while Xbox paves the way for HD and online gaming. When telling a story, you aim to connect with a person, ultimately creating a relationship. People need to feel as if they can trust YOU (the brand) before they’ll be willing to spend time, or money, on your “product”. In a world full of connected-disconnection, you have to capture your audience’s attention within 10 seconds in order to maintain the viewer’s interest. While different artists, designers, and various fresh entrepreneurs

emerge daily, it’s your job to find a way to stand out from the multitude of others in your precise market. How can you personally engage with potential customers? Each touch point is an opportunity to build a relationship with a consumer; when sending out e-mails, posting on social media, or networking at a local event, you are presenting your branding to the world. Ask yourself: How are you being perceived? What message are you sending? How can this strategy be improved? While many try to separate branding, marketing, and public relations, the truth is that all three go hand in hand. Without a strong brand, you struggle with marketing tactics, which leads to poor public relations strategies. From thought to conception, your plan should include a long term structured story. You can start the story from any point in time and allow it to evolve with the growth of your brand. A lot of great story telling brands have a very strong set of core values as well. Core values are the foundation your brand is created on - the back bone of your company’s morals and standard of quality; all the way down to your personal beliefs, which become interwoven into your company’s principles and system of operation. When creating a new business, even in the startup stages, it’s important to lay the foundation of your brand. What will you be known for? How will you reach your targeted demographic? What is the message you want the viewer to receive? Public perception of a brand can make or break the longevity of a company. Being successful depends on how well you can solve a person’s problem. So, what will your brand be known for?

u l B My biggest musical accomplishment so far in my career is my growth within the industry

21

I have also taken home a few Indie Music Awards, one was being recognized as the “Best Female Artist” in 2016 in the LA Underground Hip Hop Awards.

1. What made you move to the West Coast? I moved to California as a child with my mother. I was ten years old when we moved to Burbank, California. I always go back and visit Arkansas though. I at least try to go once a year. 2. Describe what’s it’s like being a mother and an artist at the same time? Being a mother and an artist is awesome. My boys love my music. It’s really cool to see how into their mom they are. My babies are my biggest fans.

22

3. How do you gain new fans? I am just a lovable person, lol. I interact with my fans online and in the streets. People are drawn to me on the regular. Then when they find out I am an artist it really surprises them, so they want to hear my music. And the music speaks for itself. 4. Tell readers what they can expect to hear on your album “So Extreme”? My album “So Extreme” I would describe it as Fun and Colorful. It will have you reminiscing and think-

ing of the future. My music represents me and tells a story of my life experiences, things I have experienced, and things I plan on experiencing. 5. What is your biggest music accomplishment? My biggest musical accomplishment so far in my career is my growth within the industry. I went from being fresh on the scene and no one knowing my name to walking into any club in L.A. and people know who I am. I have also taken home a few Indie Music Awards, one was being recognized as the

“Best Female Artist” in 2016 in the LA Underground Hip Hop Awards. 6. What can we expect the rest of the year? The remainder of 2017 will be music and more music. You can expect to see me on my grind. You can expect new videos and to catch me rocking out all year long. 7.In your own words explain what’s a rock star? Honey Blunt; up all night, electrifying rocked out and live.

23

I wanted to build a bigger fan base before I release my album.

8.What mood were you in when you wrote your single blow? Pumped, poised, and under pressure. 9.What advice can you offer to other female artist? Have complete tunnel vision; don’t worry about what others say! Always be true to your craft! And respect yourself. 10.What brings the rock star out of you in the studio? A dope track, a super producer/engineer, and a hype atmosphere. 11.Compare the 2010 Honey Blunt to the 2017 Honey Blunt. What are you doing differently now that you wasn’t before? New and improved and elevated to new heights. 12. Name 3 pointers on how a female can be taken serious in the industry? 1. Never sell yourself short. 2. Make sure your word is bond. 3. Let your music do the talking. 13. What made you switch up last minute and decide to drop singles instead of the project? I never switched up! I’ve been working and adding material to my catalogue. I wanted to build a bigger fan base before I release my album. 14. Explain why are you the face of Blunt Ent? To be blunt wit it, it’s my time, I’m bout to blow, It’s Honey Blunt season I swear.

Avoiding Damaged Skin This Summer… We all know the Summer brings around extra heat, causing drying skin and irritations. There are a few products worth looking into. As the natural hair movement continues to grow it is no surprise we are seeing a rise in weave (and wigs) designed to neatly imitate natural curl and kink patterns, without the fuss. From faux dreads to Shirley temple curls, there is a match for all tastes... in fact, there are even dread options being utilized by many men! With all the love being shown to these natural styles, perhaps we will see people skip the weave and rock their natural hair instead! This year is all about big, hot, and natural!

Teenage Emotions Written by: Mary J

Lil Yachty’s highly anticipated new album “Teenage Emotions” has recently dropped and is making noise around the world. The 19-year-old rapper may not consider himself a lyrist as he mentioned in the past but it is still important for music to make sense. Everyone was talking about how he messed up on the line “blows that dick like a cello” when in reality it should have been a clarinet. Funny huh? I know right? Yachty’s response’s was that his A&R approved of it and said it was good to go. My question is where does that leave the fans? What type of reviews are being made of the music or are the labels just selling records that don’t make sense with big names behind them to make a profit. Let us take a minute and discuss the cover. Until I heard Lil Yachty explain the concept of the cover during his interview on Everyday Struggle with Joe Budden and Dj Akademiks I was lost. I get Lil Yachty’s concept a was cool but it could have been executed better just like the album. With

a title like Teenage Emotions I expected a lot of emotions and ups and downs you go through in those years but I didn’t get that at all. I remember growing up listening to Lil Bow-Wow I used to think he had the best teenage songs. The way he explained them and the videos that were shot to them. So to listen to his prospective from a teenage was completely different not trying to compare Bow-Wow to Yachty because they are two totally different unique artists in their own way but I’m just saying. Dirty Mouth, Harley, Peek a Boo get the most love on the radio as of right now. But some of my favorites are Say My Name, Priorities, forever young. He touches many markets with this album but overall I think he still needs a little work making his flow make sense now. He was the perfect voice for hip-hop, image, style, and swag, a ghostwriter on a few songs here and there may do him some justice on top on what he has because he still has his own unique style that you cant take away.

A new venue has opened in Cleveland, Ohio that has taken upscale to another level. Medusa Restaurant and Lounge opened its door just a few short months ago and has already claimed its spot as being the premier club to attend and be seen at. Appearances by national recording artists Rick Ross, Future and more have helped the city grasp the owners vision to create an experience that is not available anywhere else in the city. Medusa has created something unique and has filled a void that has been missing in the city for years. The moment you walk into the venue, the Medusa experience starts. Versace wall coverings,

chandeliers throughout the club, the plush gold VIP sections raised above the GA floor, several other VIP options including the exclusive Privilege Lounge and FLOH sky box, a top of the line sound and light system, a raised stage with a gold custom DJ Booth, huge flat screens throughout the venue, and the gorgeous bottle girls can be seen grabbing bottles from the bartenders at any one of the three custom bars on the first floor. And even with all of this and more, Medusa owners upped the ante yet again when they added an amazing menu built with the help of their in-house chef, Chef Harold. There is no question that not one corner was cut in making Medusa the high end “it” spot of the entire city. Giving clientele options for VIP areas makes Medusa extremely coveted. The Privilege Lounge on the second floor has its own security guard at the front door to the staircase to the lounge. Once upstairs you will find a custom bar that keeps no well liquor stocked, a custom Medusa pool table, more intimate sections for guests, its own DJ and a large balcony that overlooks the entire venue. Across the Privilege Longue balcony you notice the large panes of glass that enclose the custom FLOH Vodka skybox. The FLOH Box has a private entrance from outside for high profile guests to be able to get right into their skybox and has its own Medusa staff designated to them to take care of their every need for the evening. I sat down with owner Jerry Miller and his wife Jasmine recently and asked about the creation of Medusa.

1. What made you get into the club business? Jerry: Coming up I did a lot of promoting and brought a lot of acts to town, and I either did well or I didn’t, but the bar always did well. So, I knew for me to succeed, I had to be the one selling the liquor. 2. I know you and your wife travel a lot and have been to clubs all over, is the Cleveland market different than other markets? Jerry: It’s very different, extremely different, even trying to get our clientele here to adapt to a better night life, a higher end night life and a better club experience, it’s been difficult transitioning them with the dollar amount because they are used to what they are used to. But I want to bring that out of town experience, like how we go to Miami, Las Vegas or L.A, you really enjoy yourself and people travel there all of the time just to go out and kick it for that club experience so we wanted to bring that experience here in town, and once we got them into Medusa, they are seeing what it is and are getting that experience we aimed for. 3. The opulence of this club, until people see it they won’t understand, how much input did you (Jasmine) have in the decor of the club? Jasmine: He definitely asked my opinion on a lot of it, but he (Jerry) did a lot of the work, he picked out a lot of things but definitely asked me for my input. 4. When choosing the liquor to sell, did you handpick everything? Jerry: Yes we did, in our privilege lounge there is no well liquor. Liquor was a big part of the budget as well, stocking the bars with all of the high-end liquor. But we did that because we want to be able to draw that kind of clientele. If someone wants a $200 shot of Hennessy Paradis we have it available. If a client wants to buy a bottle of King Louis Xiii, we have that as well. It’s all about the experience.”…”I wanted to set a precedent and that when a high profile artist or person does come in town and we don’t book them they still want to come here anyways because we offer that experience and standard that is expected of a venue

Jasmine: Yes, and I also have a designer friend of mine coming in to do some custom Medusa outfits for them as well, she also designed pieces for my wedding, it is extremely important that everything is high end, sexy and classy.

We have over 150 woman come in for interviews and we had to narrow it down to 15-20 ladies.

from the high end clientele. 5. Any advice you can give an upcoming promoter or someone thinking about getting into the business of owning a club? Jerry: If you’re going to do it give it your all and you’ll be successful, put your heart into it, it’s a lot of work it’s a lot of responsibility, a lot of risk but risk equals reward. Jasmine: and whatever it is plan, plan, plan. Definitely have a plan that is so important. 6. I must ask about the ladies of Medusa, where they handpicked? Jasmine: We knew a few from before, but they were all handpicked. Jerry: We have over 150 women come in for interviews and we had to narrow it down to 15-20 ladies. 7. The ladies of medusa definitely help set the tone for the club as well, they dress sexy but not overly provocative, Jasmine, was this something that we can find your touch to as well?

8. How important was the food menu to you? Jasmine: I’m a foody, so food was everything to me. And of course, when we go to clubs out of town at the end of the night they are serving all this amazing gourmet food, so at the end of the night instead of going to a fast food spot, our clientele has food right here and it is way better. One of the things Jerry and Jasmine Miller want people to know is that Medusa Restaurant and Lounge is a multi-use venue not just a nightclub. This is very important to them and was imperative when creating the space. Jasmine even mentioned how they could see weddings being done there. They have also had very successful EDM nights, and have been very supportive of the sports teams in the city by having watch parties and Pre-game parties. Even bringing in high profile guest event hosts such as reality TV star Cardi B (Love&Hip Hop VH1). There Saturday nights are a highlight of the week with The Good Guys behind the turntables, The Good Guys includes DJ Steph Floss who is the official DJ for the Cleveland Cavilers and DJ Meel. Special events and other nights include popular DJs from the city including DJ Yulissa and DJ Ryan Wolf (Official DJ for The Cleveland Browns). Several of these DJs can also be heard at their other jobs spinning on Cleveland’s #1 Hip Hop Station Z107.9.FM (Radio One). If you are visiting Cleveland Ohio and want to hit the hottest spot in the city, look no further than Medusa. Medusa has added a venue to this city that is priceless and has plans to continue to bring in the high end super stars, clientele and providing a different experience each time for all of their guests. Make sure you dress to impress and be ready for another level of a night out on the town.
