Meet our Students For some useful tips on how to get the most out of your day, take a look at what our currents students have to say about their very own Open Day experience. Chloe Heery

Ashley Griffiths

BSc (Hons) Psychology and Biology

BSc (Hons) Zoology

What are your tips for attending an Open Day? “Don’t be afraid to ask questions even if they might sound unimportant or stupid; no question is a stupid question! An Open Day is such a great opportunity to not only see what the academic side of the university is like, but also where you could be living and the extracurricular activities you could be getting involved in.”

Why was the University of Chester the university for you? “Besides having an excellent programme which suited my learning style, the city was really charming with everything I would need on a daily basis all within walking distance from campus. The staff seemed really friendly and would reply to my queries by email in no time. It seemed like the perfect fit for me.”

Lauren Hey

Germán Alemán

BA (Hons) English Literature

BA (Hons) English Language and Education Studies

What are your tips for picking the right university? “I think when you visit an Open Day you get an immediate feel for the university. From then you know whether it’s for you. It’s important to feel comfortable and to know that the course you’re signing up to is exactly the course you want.”

What did you find most useful when attending an Open Day? “The most useful thing about an Open Day is the ability to ask the lecturers questions about the course. This is your opportunity to find out how you will be taught, if there are any trips abroad or around Chester and what you can do with your degree once you graduate.”
