What are your tips for picking the right university? “Do your research and find out whether the university has sports, societies and volunteering opportunities that you can get involved with. These opportunities will look great on your CV and it’s the quickest way to make new friends!”

Why was the University of Chester the university for you? “Besides having an excellent programme which suited my learning style, the city was really charming with everything I would need on a daily basis all within walking distance from campus. The staff seemed really friendly and would reply to my queries by email in no time. It seemed like the perfect fit for me.”

Germán Alemán

Lauren Hey

BA (Hons) English Language and Education Studies

BA (Hons) English Literature

What did you find most useful when attending an Open Day? “The most useful thing about an Open Day is the ability to ask the lecturers questions about the course. This is your opportunity to find out how you will be taught, if there are any trips abroad or around Chester and what you can do with your degree once you graduate.”

What are your tips for picking the right university? “I think when you visit an Open Day you get an immediate feel for the university. From then you know whether it’s for you. It’s important to feel comfortable and to know that the course you’re signing up to is exactly the course you want.”
