You can advertise your company, opportunities or competitions through a range of high profile and unique mediums – ideal for getting your brand known on campus. We can circulate A4 and A3 sized posters across all of our campuses. They will be located on notice boards in our academic buildings and other areas, where permitted. This service is free of charge. Jobs Board Space is available on our Jobs Board on the Streatham campus, for a limited number of A2 and A4 posters. Located at the entrance to the Career Zone, it advertises a range of jobs which are updated weekly. Posters rotate on a monthly basis. Window Display Units Four A1 sized poster display units are located within the Career Zone, at the entrance to The Forum, on the Streatham campus. The units are backlit and positioned in the most visible window panes to ensure maximum exposure to the 6000 visitors passing through each day. Double sided, they sit alongside a selection of job adverts, encouraging further interest. Posters rotate on a monthly basis. E-shots (UK and International Recruitment) Send a dedicated e-shot directly to our current students’ inboxes. We can send emails to all students or target by year groups, college/ department or course. We can also send to those who have expressed an interest in learning of specific opportunities – such as part time work. In the Zone Magazine Advertise in our termly careers magazine, ‘In the Zone’, available online and in hardcopy. It’s also circulated via email to all students and alumni can access the online version. Potential readership is 20,000+. We accept standard adverts or advertorials and these can be booked for one issue or at a discounted rate for the year. Careers Fair Brochure Adverts Place an advert in our careers fair brochures, distributed to students on the day and in advance of the event. Perfect for targeting specific students. Plasma Screens Two plasma screens dedicated to careers-related advertising are in the Career Zone and main thoroughfare of The Forum on our Streatham campus. Slides appear for 10 seconds, with a maximum of 6 in rotation at any one time, to ensure regular display of your advert. Advertising space is bookable in monthly blocks. Web Banners Web banners are located on MyCareerZone, an online system where all jobs and careers events are listed and which 75% of our students login to each year. A maximum of six banners are in rotation at any one time, two of which are reserved for employers. They are available to book in monthly blocks. Sponsorship is a popular way of increasing awareness of your organisation amongst our students. We also offer the chance to endorse selected schemes, free of charge. Careers Fairs Sponsor our popular and well-established careers fairs which attract students across all degree disciplines. These events are widely advertised across our campuses and your organisation name and logo will appear on all marketing. The package includes a stand at the event and colour advert in the fair brochure (with the exception of the International Virtual Careers Fair, for which no brochure is produced). Please see the Careers Fairs data sheet for an overview of all our fairs.

Awards The Exeter Award & Exeter Leaders Award The Exeter Award is an achievement award designed to enhance students’ employability and provide recognition for activities outside of their studies. The Exeter Leaders Award is our higher level employability award, focusing on leadership and achievement. Completing The Exeter Award is a pre-requisite for registering for the Exeter Leaders Award. Up to three organisations may sponsor each award for a two year period, with organisation names and logos appearing across all marketing throughout this period. Sponsors of The Exeter Award also attend the celebratory event when a student has completed their Award. Sponsors of the Leaders Award attend the final judging stage to enable students to complete their Award. Those organisations which work with us regularly are welcome to endorse The Exeter Award. Organisation logos and quotes appear on a dedicated webpage which outlines to students the value of the scheme. This option is free of charge. Student Employee of the Year Awards The Student Employee of the Year is an annual national competition run to recognise and promote the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who combine parttime work with their study commitments. The Exeter institutional stage is advertised to all students at Exeter. Your organisation, logo and details will be included on all promotional material and you will be invited to attend the awards ceremony.

Schemes and Initiatives Career Mentor Scheme The Career Mentor Scheme brings bright, enthusiastic students together with successful professionals in mutually beneficial mentoring partnerships. It aims to give students an opportunity to gain an insight into their preferred employment sector, develop personal networks and employability skills through the help of a mentor. Packages vary but can include sponsoring all marketing material or the mentor forum and celebration event. Students’ Guild and Societies Our Students’ Guild also provides a range of sponsorship opportunities, from the Freshers’ Ball to Teaching Awards to Sabbatical Elections. We invite organisations to contribute or deliver activities to the benefit of our students, providing the ideal chance to meet and engage with them on campus free of charge, whilst raising the profile of your business and building brand awareness. They take place across all our campuses. Skills Sessions Autumn and spring terms - between 1-2 hours in length Providing students with insight into what employers expect at the various stages of the recruitment process can be enormously valuable for their career development and help you ensure prospective applicants have the skills required to succeed in your recruitment process. Sessions typically focus on specific aspects such as application forms and assessment centres but we are open to any exciting or innovative ways to develop our students.

Mock Interviews Throughout the year - up to 6 hours in length An opportunity to practice interview skills with an experienced interviewer can have an enormous impact on student career outcomes. Conducting a 20-minute competency-based interview and offering feedback provides valuable insight for students and allows you access to those eager to succeed. Mock interviews are run in half or full day blocks, either on campus or by telephone.

Widen Your Options Autumn and spring terms - up to 2 hours in length This popular programme provides information on hard-to-enter specialisms and non-traditional graduate career paths. We welcome recent graduates, experienced managers and industry leaders who can share their expertise and knowledge of popular sectors, to enable students to make effective choices for the future. Sessions consist of panel discussions, sector presentations and interactive workshops.

eXfactor Throughout the year – between 1-3 hours in length Make your mark at the early stages of a students’ career pathway, by contributing to our award-winning employability and professional development course, delivered to all first year students. Employers can participate in all or some of the sessions, which include telling their career story, contributing to sections on professionalism and outlining how students can market themselves. We also welcome those who wish to participate in judging the final session.

Careers in... Throughout the year – between 1-2 hours in length Careers In … is a programme of industry focused experiential seminars based around the top career aspirations of our students. Sector professionals are invited to share their industry knowledge and help students develop relevant skills. Followed by a networking session, it provides the perfect chance to form links with students focused on a particular career pathway.

Exeter Leaders Award Throughout the year – between 1.5-2 hours in length Work with a member of staff to judge the final presentation of students demonstrating their leadership skills and experience as part of the Leaders Award, and meet with some of our most high achieving students.

Careers fairs provide you with a unique opportunity to access our talented undergraduate and postgraduate students, raise your profile and build a pool of candidates for your current and future staffing needs. The fairs take place across our campuses and are open to all Exeter students and recent graduates. Which Fair is right for me? Casual Jobs and Internship Fairs Autumn Term and Spring Term, Exeter and Cornwall Campuses Ideal if you are looking to hire casual staff for the holiday rushes, find part-time staff for your business or recruit students to your internships. Our fairs host between 15-25 exhibitors and we expect around 750 students to attend. With award winning casual student employees, these fairs are an excellent way to secure talented staff.

Careers & Placement Fair Autumn Term, Exeter Campus An ideal opportunity to promote your graduate scheme, internships and placements, our flagship fair attracts over 80 exhibitors and more than 2000 students from any discipline and year group. We also welcome postgraduate course providers and professional bodies.

International Virtual Careers Fair

Autumn Term Open to organisations who wish to promote graduate level positions and internships in international locations. Your ‘virtual stand’ will be online for up to two weeks, promoting your organisation and opportunities. It typically attracts around 40 exhibitors and over 1000 students.

Meet Your Future Careers Fair

Autumn Term, Cornwall Campus Open to students from any discipline and year group from both the University of Exeter and Falmouth University. The event regularly attracts up to 45 exhibitors and over 1000 students with specialisms ranging from Mining, Climate Change & Risk Management to History, Politics and International Studies.

Law Careers Fair

Autumn Term, Exeter Campus Over 50 exhibitors attend this event, including solicitors’ and barristers’ firms, postgraduate course providers and professional bodies. It typically attracts over 500 students from all years and disciplines, from all campuses, who are interested in a career in law.

Summer Recruitment Fair Summer Term, Exeter Campus This mixed fair offers a wide range of businesses the chance to promote their graduate, casual and summer positions to students from any year or discipline. Up to 25 exhibitors and approximately 350 students attend this event.

Recruitment Presentations Autumn and spring terms between 1–3 hours in length Presentations offer the chance to meet students who are particularly interested in learning more about your organisation and for you to make them aware of the opportunities available. Formats vary but usually include time for networking. They remain one of the most popular methods of engaging with our students.

Drop Ins Throughout the year – approximately 4 hours in length Meet students informally by setting up a stand in one of our busy student services buildings. The relaxed environment lends itself to promoting your organisation to those passing through, as well as those who have already undertaken research and are eager to speak in more depth about your opportunities.

Showcase Events Throughout the year – approximately 4 hours in length Make an impact by running a high profile showcase event on campus. With indoor and outdoor space suitable for anything from smoothie giveaways to double decker buses, this event type allows you to get creative and deliver a larger, more visual drop in.

Recruiter in Residence Autumn and spring terms – up to 5 hours in length We welcome organisations who wish to meet students in a quieter, more focused setting. Our Career Zone provides a suitable space to chat one-to-one about a variety of topics with individual students, whether relating to a specific question or providing support through the recruitment process.

Recruitment Interviews and Testing Throughout the year Space can be booked to run your own recruitment interviews and testing sessions and often coincides with our drop in or showcase events. Convenient for students and employers alike, we can also provide a reception service for those you have invited to attend.

Postgraduate taught and research students The environment and sustainability are important to us; they’re the basis for much of the research undertaken on the campus, and they feed - directly and indirectly - into all our degree programmes. Our new Environment and Sustainability Institute (ESI) was officially opened in April 2013 and leads research into solutions to problems of environmental change. It’s not the only new facility either: the £10 million Exchange is a striking extension to the campus and provides a range of distinctive new spaces suitable for 21st century learning and student engagement. As well as being home to the Career Zone, organisations looking to recruit or raise their brand awareness with students can also make use of the facilities in The Compass area of this building. From mini fairs to drop in sessions, networking events to confidential interview rooms. We are always happy to hear from organisations who are interested in engaging with our students and you can be sure of a friendly, helpful and efficient service.
