BIOGRAPHIES

J. Nick Smith is currently a third-year wind conducting doctoral candidate at the University of Minnesota. He received his master of music degree from the University of Michigan after serving as a public school teacher in Tuscaloosa, AL for six years. Smith also serves as the conductor for the University of Minnesota North Star Campus Band.

Betsy McCann is the assistant director of bands and director of athletic bands at the University of Minnesota, where she directs the Marching Band and University Band, teaches conducting, and administers the Athletic Band program. McCann earned degrees from the University of Minnesota and Northwestern University and is active as a guest conductor and clinician.

Brooke Linzmeier is a fourth-year student at the University of Minnesota, originally from Pulaski, Wisconsin, studying music education and psychology. She currently serves as the campus band manager for the North Star Campus Band and a member of the student leadership team for the University of Minnesota Marching Band.Â
