Welcome to our Careers in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Fair It is great to see you at the second of this year’s Careers in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Fair. The outlook for graduates in engineering continues to be positive. A recent study by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) stated that demand for engineers remains high, with two-thirds of the companies surveyed looking to recruit over the next 12 months. Our second fair this year hosts a diverse range of employers with opportunities across sectors such as aerospace, automotive, rail, defence and telecommunications. In any of these sectors you could work for large multinationals, niche consultancies, high-growth technology firms and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Employers attending the fair may have opportunities for final years interested in graduate positions as well as year-long and summer placements for first, second and penultimate year students, in a range of interesting roles across their businesses. Even if you are unsure which sector is right for you, you can still learn a lot from the organisations visiting the fair about what they look for in students and graduates. This will help you in future applications across all industry sectors – you may even find out about opportunities you never knew existed.
