Welcome... First year: get started

Final year/postgraduate: make it count It’s amazing how a few months can take your CV from dull to dynamite. If you want to build on your experience, especially if it’s limited, developing some additional skills this year will help you to stand out from the crowd. Talk to people today about jobs that interest you, volunteer your time to a small business or social enterprise, and ask our team about career options. Whatever you get involved with, make a commitment to setting yourself apart.

Workshops We are running 20-minute workshops throughout the day to give you ideas, inspiration and support. These take place in Highfield House, Room A11.

Students’ Union skills development Postgraduate study

Your second year is the ideal time to develop the skills that employers tell us give you an edge when applying for jobs and internships. One way to do this could be signing up for our accredited award programme, the Nottingham Advantage Award. With more than 160 optional modules including volunteering, project management and mentoring, it’s a great way to set yourself apart. Whether you fancy helping out in a local school, curating a student-led exhibition or getting a part-time job, now’s the time to get involved.
