Welcome to our Go Global Conference
I am delighted that you are attending Go Global, our conference to help you understand the international opportunities available when you graduate. At The University of Nottingham we recognise the value that an international understanding adds to the prospects and fulfilment of our graduates and are proud to have students from more than 145 countries studying at our campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia. One of our aims today is to help you make the most of your time studying in Nottingham, reflecting on the skills and behaviours that employers may be looking for. You will hear from some of our employer partners so do take the opportunity to meet them and ask questions. We have the expertise to inform, guide and support you in making the right career choice for you, wherever in the world you hope to be. I hope this conference will encourage and inspire you to think about your future and use our services to help build your global career. Colleagues from the Careers and Employability Service are here throughout the day and will be available to chat with you during the lunch break. I look forward to meeting you during the day, Sharon Bell Associate Director, Careers and Employability Service

Student and alumna profiles Bety Mehide
BA Film and Television Studies, graduated 2015. Director of Lian Ltd.
I am in my second year studying economics. I am from Estonia and I completed my secondary education there and came to the UK last year to start university.
After graduating with a BA Film and Television Studies, I decided on a slightly different path than my peers: starting my own cosmetics company.
I actively took part in a wide variety of career events and was a student blogger for the Careers and Employability Service. In spring I undertook two placement weeks, one with Citibank in their women in finance programme and the other with Barclays in their technology division. It really helped me figure out what I want to do after university.

Lili Zhu
BA (Hons) Economics, second year
Growing up surrounded by business people, I pursued an arts degree to experience a more diverse world. However, deep down, I’ve always known I wanted to be an entrepreneur. After stumbling into a cosmetics business partnership with a friend, I got in touch with The Ingenuity Lab. The rest, as they say, is history. The University gave me advice on setting up a business in the UK, helped me connect with the right individuals and institutions, and, shortly after, Lian Ltd was born.
